Who’s Winning, iOS or Android?

Who’s winning the mobile platform wars, Apple’s iOS or Google’s Android?
Android sells more smartphones than apple. But Apple is making more money by sellying smartphone than Android.

Foxconn parent Hon Hai to pay Microsoft royalties on every Android and Chrome device sold

Well how’s this? Microsoft not only makes money on every Windows Phone that it sells, but is also able to fill in its pockets on the sale of every Android or Chrome device too. Google may market Android as free, but more often than not manufacturers end up paying royalties to Microsoft for using their patents in the OS. The latest to sign such a pact with Microsoft is Foxconn’s parent Hon Hai. The company will pay a fixed amount to Microsoft on every Android and Chrome device that ships out of its factories.

Chat Heads

ANNOYING!

They are just way too intrusive, I just updated Facebook messenger this morning. Have to play a little bit with it to see if I can disable them.
It would be way nicer if they automatically arranged on the upper part of the screen instead and they were a bit smaller.

launchers?

I want a unique launcher, something that has a Holo influence and is easily customized.

I don't like Go launcher, launcher pro, apex launcher, but I like listener launched but it wasn't customizable enough.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Galaxy Note 2 with Straight Talk

I'm using boost mobile paying $55 before tax Shrinkage plan... I really want the galaxy note 2 and i've read that you can use att note 2 on straight talk with the compatible sim. My question is I live between Sarasota - Fort Myers Florida and was wondering if I should go with the T-mobile version or att.. I use the internet allot mainly for looking up things not gaming or streaming I also know there will be no 4G only HSPA or edge. So what would be the best network and phone? att or t-mob I've heard allot of bad things about the network speed with the international unlocked version so most likely I wont get that version..

Quadrant Score

I was just wondering one thing:

Have you rooted your phone? Have you installed a customer rom and kernal? What phone are you using?

What are they if you have and what is your highest quadrant score?

I know this might be irellavent to people but I am just curious what kind of scores some people are getting.

I have a Nexus S 4G with Sprint- Freshly rooted running CM7's latest and the Trinity Kernal. Overclocked to 1.5Ghz I got a quadrant of 4322.

does anyone have the knowledge on how to reset my motorola atrix hg to the correct internet specs?

I recently moved to Italy from the U.S.A., and had my phone unlocked to use over here. It is currently running on 4.1.1 software, I have WIND service, it is unlocked from At&t, and I am not able to access the internet outside of wi-fi, access MMS, or anything else that correlates to using the internet. the huge kicker is that my phone now has a SIM toolkit, which is all in Italian, which I don't speak. When I try and access a MMS, it prompts me to check my MMS APN configuration in mobile network settings, and that messages cannot be received until the data connection is restored. Is there anyone out there who can help! Thanks for any input!

Microsoft Adds Android Support To Windows Azure Mobile Services

Last year, Microsoft launched Azure Mobile Services, a cloud backend for mobile applications. But at the time, it only supported Windows 8, and the team then added iOS and Windows Phone 8 support a short while later.Starting today, Android users can also connect their apps to Azure Mobile Services and use the platform to store their structured data, use its user authentication tools and send out push notifications.

Android to take 58 percent of smartphone apps

More than half, or 58 percent, of the total 56 billion smartphone app downloads expected this year will be Android apps, while Apple iOS will account for 33 percent. Microsoft's Windows Phone will have a share of slightly less than 4 percent and BlackBerry will see 3 percent.

Frequency support

I'm interested in getting an unlocked telephone that can be used by the most carriers in the US and Europe.

Is there an easy way to determine which Android model supports the largest number of frequencies across the various modes (e.g. LTE)?
