Foxconn parent Hon Hai to pay Microsoft royalties on every Android and Chrome device sold

Well how’s this? Microsoft not only makes money on every Windows Phone that it sells, but is also able to fill in its pockets on the sale of every Android or Chrome device too. Google may market Android as free, but more often than not manufacturers end up paying royalties to Microsoft for using their patents in the OS. The latest to sign such a pact with Microsoft is Foxconn’s parent Hon Hai. The company will pay a fixed amount to Microsoft on every Android and Chrome device that ships out of its factories.
