Search by LTE band

I accidentally posted this in the general forum too 🀭

Right now, there is only a check box in the phone finder for LTE. The problem is, LTE has different bands. It would be nice if we could expand the LTE search option to select different bands the phone must have.

Example, I want a phone that works on T-Mobile USA (LTE Band 4) and western Europe (LTE Band 7, mostly). If the phone can't do both, I don't want it.

From the AP:

Tax penalty to hit nearly 6M uninsured people
By RICARDO ALONSO-ZALDIVAR, Associated Press – 11 hours ago
WASHINGTON (AP) β€” Nearly 6 million Americans β€” significantly more than first estimatedβ€” will face a tax penalty under President Barack Obama's health overhaul for not getting insurance, congressional analysts said Wednesday. Most would be in the middle class.

The new estimate amounts to an inconvenient fact for the administration, a reminder of what critics see as broken promises.
...
And the budget office analysis found that nearly 80 percent of those who'll face the penalty would be making up to or less than five times the federal pov

Little misunderstanding

I just got a warning for spam for my thread " Scope this video. Save money on your power bill."

That was a political video and wasn't intended as spam (just a misleading title)

Did you even watch the video, or did you just see the link and mark it as spam?
I was hoping you could reconsider my warning. Not that I plan on getting more, but accidents happen.

Where do you see the future of wireless going?

i see everything condensed into the "phone" id, credit cards, money, paper, keys

You walk up to your car, press a button and it unlocks then plug it into the charger port and it starts.

You walk up to your house enter a code on the phone or press a button and it unlocks the house..

then instead of flipping a switch you press a button and the lights come on and then turn the tv on and start flipping thru channels using your phone

and then the fridge hands you a beer.. πŸ‘€

what's your opinion on the future?

This may be an odd place to post this,

but I wanted to see if you had more info about something. I've been seeing a lot of reports that Samsung is re-patching the universal search into the international SIII, and I was wondering if you've heard anything similar for the US. I would assume that their recent blow from the US courts would be a barrier to this.

If not, would you happen to have a recommendation for a third party application that would offer similar functionality? πŸ˜›

Galaxy SIII reviews question.

For the t-mobile/AT&T variant you reported the battery life as easily clearing 2 days, while the Sprint SIII you estimated to have 30 hours at the most.

Was there a typo somewhere on either review or is there really that substantial of a difference between the two?

Request for Ban of Account

Rich and whomever else runs this site. I have requested in a few places that my account be banned and if possible that you delete all my posts. I am upset that a reply to a post was deleted but more so that you guys sent me an email accusing me of violating the terms of service which IS an outright lie. I made no personal attack against an individual, but rather laughed at the idea that Verizon cares about saving a user money. They don't. That's a fact. Company culture IS: "We are not the cheap carrier nor do we wish to be." I know that first hand from round table discussions sales meetings, sales rallies etc... For you guys to allow a user who only created an account on 7/17/2011 to cause my post to be deleted and THEN to lodge that...

New Phone Compare Features

We've upgraded our side-by-side phone comparison tools.

The big new feature is side-by-side phone size comparisons. You can put up to five phones side-by-side and see which ones are bigger, thinner, etc. It's to scale and includes front and side views for the vast majority of phones.

Also, the whole Compare interface is now much simpler and easier to use. We've eliminated the separate page for building a list of phones to compare. Now you simply go the Compare page and start adding phones.

Finally, you can now easily re-arrange the phones being compared, if you want to see them in a different order.

Please let us know what you think. We'd love to hear your feedback.

when clicking on carriers tab

then filtering phones, you can't separate smart phones from non smart. It would be most helpful if we could. Thanks

Site updates

We've launched a number of changes to the site in recent weeks, including some new ones just today.

First, we overhauled our page tools, including social buttons. At the top-right of every page, you'll find options to email, share, Like, and/or subscribe to whatever is on that specific page. The options are contextual, so they vary depending on what kind of page you're looking at.

As part of this, we also tweaked our RSS feeds for each phone. There's now one feed with news articles and updates, and a second feed for reviews (including user reviews.)

There are also new social links at the bottom of the site.

We also added comment counters (that link directly to comments) on phones on the front page.

Today, we also launched a fe...

I love the little comment bubbles on the phones on your home page. It's a nice touch to be able to see at a glance what phones are being discussed.

Phonescoop Alternative

Is it my imagination or has the traffic on Phonescoop decreased dramatically? I used to get rapid responses to questions and concerns I posted in the forums but not the as much anymore... Have people migrated to other venues, forums, boards, sites? It would be really helpful to know where to go to get the most up-to-date information from active users and those in the know.
