Qwest Kantana USB not supported?

Trying to access my Qwest Sanyo Katana on my laptop via USB cable, I was unable aquire it. After scouring the internet looking for a Qwest Katana driver, I called customer support. They say that the phone cannot be plugged into a computer. Has this feature been dissabled by Qwest (to force the use of their data transfer service) or is the CSR misinformed? Perhaps this post will save someone else the frustration that I've been dealing with.

Verizon and qwest......a dissaster waiting to happen

I would keep your verizon bill as far away from qwest as possible.

I predict verizon will have to clean up a lot of qwest nightmare cs issues. Dealing with qwest cs is a nightmare.

Hopefully this is a step in the direction of verizon taking qwest over. If this happens, verizon (or buying company) needs to fire all qwest call center employees and start from scratch. qwest is a example of how unions can make your employees worthless.

the thought of qwest handeling verizon bills is scary.

J.D. Powers Report

I saw in the 07 J.D. Powers report the Qwest came in second to Verizion in call quality, with Sprint coming in third. Qwest tied Verizion in 06. My question is: Since Qwest uses Sprints network, what do they do to enhance the quality of the coverage? Especially since Qwest beat Sprint by several points?

Qwest Wireless customers getting any deals from Verizon?

I'm a Qwest Wireless coverage. Historically, this means I've not been able to get the best, hottest phones. But, I loose some important features, when I make the switch to Verizon.

Are any Qwest Wireless customers getting good deals, with this change?

I lose One Number Service. Right now, I give folks a landline phone number. If I'm in my office, that phone rings. But, if I'm out and my cell phone is on, the same call gets routed to my cell. I don't have to forward the calls; they are automatically forwarded.

I get a single voice mail box. If there's a message there, both my office phone and my cell phone knows about it and notifies me.

When I call my home, using my Qwest phone, it's a free call. It doesn't get deducted from my c...

Sprint phone use on Qwest?

I'm on Qwest and want to purchase a used Sprint smartphone for use with Qwest. Since Qwest Wireless is a MVNO using Sprint's network, will I be able to use the Sprint phone on Qwest? Does it need to be "unlocked"? Will any features not work properly thru Qwest (i.e. mobile web)? Thanks for any advice on this.

Change in coporate business philosophy

Several articles state that Qwest is renegotiating with Sprint on how the service is resold through the telco. Qwest wants to copy the model they use for reselling Direct TV. Currently Qwest acts as a go-between for Direct TV and the customer. Direct TV handles the installation/equipment and CS. Qwest just bundles the service with your bill in which you get a bundling discount.

An analyst also reports that due to the large rural area that Qwest covers, customers are not getting the coverage Sprint promises. He recommends that Qwest partner with a different carrier that better suits the regions needs.

Since Qwest is currently an MNVO, does this mean that they are going to get out of the cell phone business and just act as a middlem...

Qwest sucks

Bundle and save. What a bunch of crap. The only way to save is to save yourself from crappy service and slower internet by going with someone else.

does it have to be a qwest phone?

I am assuming that the answer is yes. seeing how cdma rolls that way. but, if i bought a sprint phone, could i use that on qwest. seeing as it was unlocked and all that. or will qwest not activate it. thanks!!

Download photos from Katana

I upgraded recently to the katana phone with Qwest. I'd read of downloading data from cell to PC so I ordered a product(usb cable & software) only to find that the product was apparently carrier specific and guess what? It only worked with Sprint. Of course I have the option of paying $15 per month to upload photos to a site, but I'd like to know if I'm truly dead in the water on this. I've read of freeware usb drivers and compatable cables available, but don't know if this is possible "generically" with Qwest. Thanks in advance for any info you may have.
