Re: To those who say WiMax will be dead soon...
Network: (noun) a group of broadcasting stations that connect for the simultaneous broadcast of a single transmission.
"Gotta love our school system in the States. Turns out illiterates every day"
But I digress, as I said before, you can call it what you want. It is what it is.
Re: To those who say WiMax will be dead soon...
Call it what you will, but its more than what the other guys have
By the way, my name is Andre. Any attempt at humor that you make does not need to involve calling people names.
To those who say WiMax will be dead soon...
http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/16/clearwire- says-its-not-married-to-wimax-for-4g-would-be -easy-t/
Please come up with a new arugument.
Sprint was THE FIRST carrier in the US to have a 4G network. Plain and simple.
If Sprint keeps its 4G network expansion at its current rate, they will cover most major cities by the time Verizon has their 4G up and running.
If WiMax doesn't work out, guess what??? They flip a switch to LTE and ship out new compatatble hardware to consumers.
Within a month they would have an LTE network ...
Re: And..
At the time that I posted that message, the stats of the Pixi were 99.5 oz and 11 x 55 x 10.9 inches. Me and MrGooch were pointing out the obvious errors of phonescoop mods.
Re: 6.2Lbs, 111 inches??
haha! At the time MrGooch and I posted those threads the specs were 111 x 55 x 10.9 inches and 99.5 oz
And..
Not to mention it weighs 6.2 lbs!!!
Re: I Remember...
I have an airave.
It does not broadcast evdo. 1X only.
How is this cheaper?
It used to be $10. That covered all lines on a family plan.
Now its $5 per line. Chances are you will want to sign up at least 2 lines if not more.
I really don't see it being cheaper. For most, it will probably be more expensive!
Being from Nebraksa...
I am extremely happy about this.
Verizon's coverage here is wonderful.
Alltel is good in rural NE, but sucks in Omaha, which is the biggest city in NE.
That means (hopefully) that all those vzw cutomers will leave when they get transitioned to the Alltel network, and come to Sprint which is the 2nd best coverage in Omaha.
W00T!
Re: UMTS & LTE to rural areas is awesome news. . .
Being from the a large city in the midwest and going to college in a rural town, I thought the same thing.
"Wow, my Sprint Blackberry will never work out here."
And it doesn't, until it goes to roaming, then it get full bars of EVDO coverage from Alltel.
Rural towns have all the wireless tech big cities do. Just most of it comes from Alltel. :)
I never thought I'd say that, considering where I am from, Alltel is ...
Re: Unlocked Drift
No. Sorry.
And BTW, Helio uses Sprint.
Re: View the new commercials HERE!
Thats true! I have had some customers come into my store who are mad AT SPRINT about the dumbest things!
"Sir, I'm sorry your phone broke, but if you went swimming with it in your pocket, there is not much we can do"
Re: View the new commercials HERE!
I don't think changing the name of a service is going to piss people off!
I don't think its that big of a deal.
View the new commercials HERE!
I think this may start a turnaround for sprint.
These are rather good, especially compared to their previous train wrecks!

Re: What was that buzz sound?
The buzzing sound you heard was standard GSM interference. Hold any GSM cell phone that is on an active call next to almost any electronic device with speakers or a microphone and you will hear it.
I first discovered it when I switched from Sprint to at&t wireless (the day wnp became available). I left the at&t store with my new nokia 3595, made a call while sitting in my car, and I heard that exact same buzzing coming out ...
Re: Ah, Pantech...

Re: Services In PCS "Green" Area
To answer your question:
Yes, anywhere you have a sprint signal, you will internet access at 1xrtt speeds 60-80 kbps. However, it may not be EVDO (high speed) access.
Re: V3M OUT!
No. The V3m from sprint includes wallpapers that have the sprint logo on them, but you may choose to use them or not.
