What They Need to Do..

...is improve their own 3G network instead of suing Sprint over an ad.

Wait...this all sounds a little too familiar! Paranoid
...Verizon's old service is now "useless."

Sorry Verizon, there's no "map for that." Cool
...
Verizon's network, 3G or even the old analog one, is far more superior than that of Sprint. So yes, Sprint should drop the slogan.

Wow, who are they going to attack next, Tracfone?

Seriously, Verizon needs to cut the BS, Sprint could have attacked Verizon about their "best value in wireless" ad because Verizon is actually the worst value in wireless being that they pretty much rob their customers... Sprint's rate plans make Verizon's look like a joke. I guess Verizon is just pushing so that no one else is allowed to advertise unless they say "don't buy our product, because Verizon is the best"

and plus Sprint roams on the Verizon network so in actuality they are partially challenging themselves.
Seriously Get a grip!! Every carrier is good to a point they all have there good points and bad! Sprint's rate plans are jokes themselves ! They are going to tank in the end! I can see them getting bought out! Sprint does have great rate plans but I m...

THE AD CLEARLY STATE 3G COVERAGE NOT VOICE

I think verizon is calling Americans stupid. What does 3G network have to do with making calls u can't drop a call while surfing the web they are confusing people and there are people out there dumb enough out there who don't know that there is a difference. WOW CAN U SAY DESPERATE I GUESS THE DROID NOT DOING SO WELL CAN U SAT HTC HERO W FREE ANYTIME MOBILE TO ANY CELL PHONE FREE 7PM DATA AND TEXT GPS SPRINT TV AND SPRINT RADIO $69.99 I THINK PEOPLE A COMPLAINING ABOUT VERIZON PRICES SO THEY WANT TO TRICK PEOPLE THAT THEY ARE THE BEST. PEOPLE WILL BREAK A CONTRACT IN A MINUTE FOR PREPAID SERVICE SO VERIZON BETTER WAKE UP
I think YOU are the stupid American. None of this is referring to voice. CDMA data or EVDO, is a 3G technology that transmits data similar to 1xRTT voice channel. You can drop a data call just like a voice call. Your data call can also be blocked i...

Posts like this make me glad I work for multiple carriers.
These forums are filled with fanboys of a single carrier that will make claims about price and a phone when something completely different is being argued.

Also, grammar helps.

NEW SLOGAN INSPIRED FOR VERIZON...

As a 5 month contract runaway I can say vzw has the crappiest service with the most dropped calls, dead zones and slowest internet that makes aol dialup look like cable but also just plain overpriced. Not to mention their in-store reps are snotty and useless which is why it pisses me off they can challenge other carriers in their ads. If I was the DOJ and FTC I would have had vzw cease their misleading ads. I'm so tired of "Big-Head Red" throwin her weight around. "Verizon Wireless - It's the network, We wish we had" Laughing Laughing Laughing

Verizon is digging themselves a bigger hole...

First of all, I work at a retailer that sells Verizon, AT&T, and sprint. Altho I have alot of personal and customer issues with Verizon i am not very baised(spelling). Verizon is very upset that they cannot expand on customer base like they used to. Seeing a 2nd and 3rd quarter loss of nearly 1 million hurts.

Verizon is currently being looked into by the federal government on 2 accounts. Unlawfully raising termination fee's with little notice, and fraudulent coverage map advertisement. Their maps have 1 solid color claiming full coverage where shown. However, Verizon is claiming coverage with just a fraction of 1 bar. Thousands of people are wondering why it shows full red in their area but no coverage.

The government is mandati...

Verizon only posted a loss in 3rd quarter because they had the costs of the alltel switch over without the ability to post the alltel revenue. if you include alltel, the company actually gained .6%.

as for your claims of 3g over At&t, even at&t do...

PC-world study

So those of you that do not know, PC-world went to like 50 cities across the US to do a test on the 3 major carriers on network speed, call clairty, and dropability.

Sprint placed 98% reliable
AT&T placed 72%
Verizon placed 65%
You tell me look it up btw
You mean this one?

If you're going to bash, at least quote your numbers right.

Sprint 90.5%
Verizon 89.8%
AT&T 68%

The difference between Sprint and Verizon is so minor t...

verizon, stop hating on sprint, this stunt makes you look like a bully

I UNDERSTAND THAT THE PHONE COMPANY WANTS A PERSONS BUSINESS AND TRY TO COMPETE WITH OTHER CARRIERS IN THEIR INDUSTRY, BUT TO GO OUT, IN MY MIND, LIKE A CHUMP AND COME AT THIS COMPANY WITH A CHALLENGE IS WHAT IS CALLED BEING A HATER. VERIZON WAY BEFORE YOU CAME ON THE MAP BACK IN THE DAY I BELIEVE SPRINT UPGRADED THEIR SERVICES FIRST. VERIZON NEVER STARTED FROM THE BOTTOM YOU HAD ANOTHER NAME. YOU CAME UP A LONG WAY AND THATS GOOD, BUT DON'T START TRYING TO COME AT THIS COMPANY LIKE THAT. YOU TRIED WITH ATT NOW YOU ARE COMING AT SPRINT. YOU TRIED TO COME AT ATT WITH THE U.S.A. COVERAGE COMMERCIAL, BUT YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN ONLY GO SO FAR WHY DIDN'T YOU GUYS CALL OUT ATT WITH THEIR ADS ABOUT THE BEST COVERAGE EVEN OUT OF THE U.S.A., OH I...

definition of reliability

Reliability: the percentage of tests for a given city in which we could detect a signal, connect at a reasonable speed (faster than dial-up), and sustain an uninterrupted connection for the duration of a 1-minute streaming test.

To those who say WiMax will be dead soon...

http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/16/clearwire-says-it ... »

Please come up with a new arugument.

Sprint was THE FIRST carrier in the US to have a 4G network. Plain and simple.

If Sprint keeps its 4G network expansion at its current rate, they will cover most major cities by the time Verizon has their 4G up and running.

If WiMax doesn't work out, guess what??? They flip a switch to LTE and ship out new compatatble hardware to consumers.

Within a month they would have an LTE network that would cover most of the major US cities.

Sounds like they made a good decision in getting a head start, using whatever technology was available at the time, but they covered their ass by ensuring the ...

I agree. The fact that Wi-Max can be converted to LTE with little issue is a great advantage.

"America's most dependable 3G network."

the term 3g network has nothing to do wiht dropped calls or blocked calls, with that claim sprint is saying their data network is more reliable
Voice can be 3G. CDMA2000 is 3G. That is besides the point. Verizon should learn from history. No one wants to fight a two front war. Verizon should keep its eyes on AT&T number one and number two is this is just straight whining. It was whining...

Do you know what Sprints 4g really is?

Lte and clearwire are two different technologies. clearwire deals with more than just cell phones. Its going to change the way we use the internet which is why its called 4g. Instead of looking for a wifi hotspot. the whole city will be a hotspot. therefore your car will be integrated with the internet which will provide more service. Also plasma tvs will become touch screen internet enabled with the wimax chip. if your laptop has a chip theres no need to get an internet card you just log on..theres alot more ideas out there. U guys dont really know much about clearwire wimax do you? Sprint also said it will consider getting lte and wimax. Lte is like 4g but for cell phones sort of how 3g is now just faster. Not a city wide hotspot. big diff...

Wimax will be used for more then just cellular service. It will open the door for a whole new market for Sprint. They're opening their options and will exploit all avenues instead of being one dimensional.
This could be good verizon picked a good fight. You have the underdog Sprint going against the big dog never underestimate them I think Dan Hesse is ready and full force he will not back down like ATT. If Verizon don't stop they will end up like wall ...

FACTS OF ALL 3 CARRIERS (PART 2)

att is really caught with its tail between its legs. its like the steroid guy that thinks hes cool, and the girl he was with just flat out told everyone about his "shrinky dink". lol

now how halarious this may be about att finally being put in thier place, just remember... that att really had not changed till 2005. may i remind everyone of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNT1Y2sLLKU and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OLdo06RKu8&NR =1 and if you see others then fine... but this isnt the first. att has always been slow in thier 3g expansion... heres an example of 2008 with verizon vs att http://www.evdoinfo.com/images/stories/VZWvsA TT_3Gcoverage.png and heres the updated att now http://www.xti9.com/att/att3gfull.gif so its clear.

Doesn't Sprint have full rights to Verizon?

Wait... how can Verizon say it is more dependable than Sprint if Sprint has rights to ALL of Verizons towers?
I don't think Verizon can deny another carrier access to its voice network if they are willing to pay the roaming rate, however, I think data roaming only applies to former Alltel. In any case, Verizon should not have picked this fight. They should ...

IS 80+ MILLION NOT ENOUGH

This could be good verizon picked a good fight. You have the underdog Sprint going against the big dog never underestimate them I think Dan Hesse is ready and full force he will not back down like ATT. If Verizon don't stop they will end up like wall street to big to fail. Sprint u better believe have there ducks in a row I remember when Sprint first came out qchat and verizon claimed they're push to talk was better and sprint made them pull the ad they're ptt will never match iden verizon will not win this against sprint. If Sprint wins this will be big thanks to verizon Sprint will get a lot of PR because the big dog Verizon underestimated the underdog Sprint and the underdog is ready BITE Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

I'm greatly enjoying this

I have no intention of arguing the finer points of network quality, equipment quality/selection, or customer service with anyone. I will say that I am greatly enjoying the entertainment value being provided by Verizon and AT&T and now (hopefully) Sprint. I am all for a marketing slugfest between carriers and just hope Sprint and T-mobile can rise to the challenge. May the best marketing/legal team win!! Very Happy
Like we really need our carriers to start wasting money -that could be used to improve/expand our networks- in silly marketing ads that the regular cell phone user won't care about...
