Screen unlocks when receive a call
Jul 23, 2011, 6:51 PM
in the Samsung Fascinate / Mesmerize (Galaxy S) forum

When I receive a phone call, my phone automatically unlocks the screen. This is a problem for several reasons, but the biggest problem is that my no-led app doesn't work because when the screen unlocks the app thinks that I've seen the missed call and doesn't show that I've missed a call. Is there a setting that's not set right or is there a problem with my phone? Thanks

But you have to pay for the data plan to get that price (at least at the Radio Shacks in my area) and you have to keep the data plan for something like 6 months. If you're going to get the data plan anyway, that's fine. But since I don't want the data plan, Wal-Mart or Best Buy work better for me as they don't require you purchasing a data plan to buy the phone at their ...

Why would you call me a jerk? I do research before I go shopping. I know the features I require; I use this site and others to find the phones that have those features and I read reviews of those phones from people who write them. Then I go to stores that charge 1/3 or 1/4 of what AT&T charges to buy those phones. And if I don't like the phone I purchased, those same ...

If I have my choice, I will only deal with Wal-Mart or Best Buy to upgrade my phone in the future. If I buy a phone and don't like it, I can just take it back to them and I can exchange it without them charging me a stupid restocking fee (which is $20 for AT&T or 10% for the iPhone, and $35 for Verizon). With information from this site and cnet.com, I don't need some "knowledgeable" ...

Horseshoe or V-shaped theme menu
Jun 15, 2009, 7:01 PM

When I set the menu theme to horseshoe or v-shape the menu moves so slow it's pretty much not usable. List or grid theme works fine. Does anyone else have this problem?

Message icon flashing on the home screen
Jun 10, 2009, 6:46 PM
in the Nokia E71 / E71x forum

I just got the E71x yesterday, and I really like it. But there's a message icon flashing on the bottom of the home screen. I don't have any unopened text messages and I don't get emails on my phone at all. Any idea what the icon is and how to turn it off?

Re: Compare LG Xenon with Samsung Impression, also considering Pantech Matrix

I did buy the Impression as did my wife. We are both very pleased with the phone. The signal reception and call quality is good. I live in a poor reception area and I have no problems with calls or text messages. The screen looks amazing and the touch screen works great. The keyboard is really nice, a lot better than the Xenon. The lock/unlock button is in an awkward place, but I've ...

Using USB charger in the car

I have a Griffin iPod car charger that is essentially a USB cable for the iPod that plugs into a converter that then plugs into the cigarette lighter. Here's a similar product: http://store.apple.com/us/product /TS267LL/A I have a Samsung Impression that came with a USB cable. The Impression has only 1 plug for charging, plugging into a computer, etc. So can I just plug the Impression's USB cable into the adapter to charge my phone in my car. I ...

I had the LG Xenon; my wife got one as well. We bought them on a Saturday. My wife's keyboard stopped working 3 days later on Tuesday; mine quit working the next day. The phone stopping recognizing the keyboard. When you slide the keyboard out, the icons are supposed to switch to landscape mode and if the screen is locked it's supposed to unlock. When we slid the keyboard out, nothing happened. When ...

Where is the E71x available?
May 4, 2009, 3:56 PM
in the Nokia E71 / E71x forum

The E71x is available from attwireless.com, but is it available from any retailers? I've been told that Best Buy will carry the phone at some point, but no one seems to know when. I'm not going to pay for the data plan (at least not at first) and I don't want to fool with a mail-in rebate. If you buy it at a retailer like Best Buy, Wal-Mart, etc, you normally get the after-rebate price up ...

Anyone else's keyboard stopped working?
May 1, 2009, 1:39 AM
in the LG Xenon GR500 forum

My wife and I both upgraded our phones (I had a Nokia E62 and she had a Motorola KRZR) to the Xenon. After 2 or 3 days, my wife's keyboard stopped working. She could slide it out, but the screen didn't change to landscape mode and the keys didn't work. The very next day, mine did the same thing. We took them both back and are now using our old phones. Has anyone here ...

Getting email with a KRZR

email client
Jul 25, 2006, 6:59 PM
in the Samsung SGH-D807 / D806 forum

I used to have a Sony Ericsson S710a that had an email client that would check for new emails every 5 minutes. But because of poor reception (my LG C1300 got better reception) I took it back and bought an unlocked Moto V635. But on the Moto, it will only check for new emails every 30 minutes. That's a pain. So much so that I don't use the feature. How often with the Samsung ...

Problem with bluetooth having "weak signal"
Mar 9, 2006, 6:06 PM
in the Motorola V635 forum

I keep having problems with my phone saying that the "Bluetooth signal is weak; Use headset." I have owned a Tekkeon EzTalker, a Gennum NxZen 5500 Plus, and now a Plantronics Voyager 510. I have also borrowed a Moto HS850 from my mother. I keep having the same problem. Both the phone and the respective bluetooth headset have charged batteries. It's really getting on my nerves. The signal is usually not very strong ...

Re: phone work with Cingular?
Oct 20, 2005, 9:34 PM
in the Motorola V635 forum

When a carrier "picks up" a phone, it means that they take the phone and put their software in the phone. This means different things for different carriers. Verizon, for example, really disables a lot of the features of a phone so you have to pay them for the features (e.g. they disable the mp3 player which means you can't use the songs as ringtones, so you have to buy their ringtones). Cingular doesn't cripple their ...

Have you tried craigslist.com? I didn't know about it until after I had already bought my phone. You go onto the site and pick a major city. I'm from Atl, GA, and there's a 6682 for $275. There are 6620 for less than $200. And since the sellers are local, you should be able to meet up, exchange funds/product, and save the shipping. That would be a relatively inexpensive way to upgrade your ...

I use Cingular. The only thing that I had to do was get the settings for Cingular's mobile web. I just googled around and found it with little problem. Other than that, there was nothing to it. And I'm no techie either. I was considering Verizon, but I was afraid to hack the Moto E815 to get it to do all of the stuff that it's supposed to do. :)

Well, I got mine for just under $250 including shipping. I can't really see it being much cheaper than that even through a carrier with the feature set it has. Anyone know the price?

I was in the same boat not too long ago. The reason that I chose the V635 was the fact that you can get the V635 with almost identical features, unlocked and unbranded, without a contract or "upgrade fee" for the same price that you would pay for the 6620 after signing a one-year contract. The screen on the Motorola is also a 262K-color screen instead of the 66K on the Nokia. I haven't had a ...

You can set ringtones for different people. You can also put a group of numbers into a category and set a ringtone for the category, but it seems that each of the names in the category must have their individual ringtone set to “None” for the group ringtone to work. You can also have a different mp3 ringtone for the ringtone, text messages, voicemails, and IM messages. You must save the entry to the phone (as ...

I don't understand those terms that you just used (24R and 6FR). What is that? I charge my phone every second or third day. If I use my Bluetooth headset much, I have to charge it a lot more often. If I were to use my Bluetooth 3-4 hours, I would probably have to charge it every day or day and a half.

 I got the French version. You're ahead of me there, because when I was shopping for them I didn't even know to look for an English version. I had very little problem changing it to English. It misspells "personalize" (says "personalise") and maybe a couple of other words, and the "quick notes" (text message templates which can't be changed) are still in French. Other than that, it was not a big deal. ...

Watch for Restocking fees. Pretty much no company is going to refund shipping/handling costs if you decide that you want to return the phone. But when I was shopping for my V635, I noticed that a lot of places charged a restocking fee. Some of them was as high as 20%. So it could cost you over $50 (20% of the phone's price + shipping) just to return the phone. I bought mine from ...

Just go to the file, press the menu button, and you can either move the file off of the memory card on to the phone, or you can copy it so it's on both. Also, I think you should cut the song into a 30-60 second clip instead of moving the whole 4-minute song on to the phone's memory. I use a program called mp3 cutter (clever name, huh?). Just google the name; you'll find it. ...

Would you say that the V635 is more similar in size and weight to Cingular's V551 than it is Verizon's E815? Thanks.
