I wouldn't recommend this phone
Samsung's low-end phones are never worth the headache. You'll never get software updates and the phone will have weird bugs that never get resolved.
Launced on T-Mobile
Its on the T-Mobile website, already sold out.
No flight mode?
I noticed in the specs that the Dash isn't supposed to have Flight mode, is that a mistake?
Re: $279.99 without contract
That's nice, were you out of contract? I am still under contract.
Re: i personally am suprised to see no posts about u420
U wanna get high? 8)
$279.99 without contract
8O
$279.99 without contract, $149.99 with 2-year (for me).
I just called a local T-Mobile store (Lenox Mall in Atlanta) and they said that I could buy a T519 for $279.99 without contract.
I just renewed my contract for an SDA in March, and they said I could purchase one for $149.99 with a 2 year contract.
Ya whatever, I'll just buy one for $150 to $200 on eBay in two weeks.
Re: new stuff
The T629 will be thinner and have more features than the T809, right? I just wish they wouldn't offer the phones in 2003 silver.
Re: Now Available on Tmobile.com
How much is it without contract? This phone is awesome, I'm glad I didn't get the T509.
Re: CompUsa offering the Samsung T809 for $99!
No mail in rebates.
Re: Samsung T809 Modem Question?? URGENT
You can use the T809 as a Bluetooth modem, in which case you don't need to install any additional software, or as a USB Modem, where you need to install the Samsung drivers and software and read the instructions.
One thing you have to remember with Bluetooth DUN is that the phone asks you for permission to connect. So if you don't authorize the connection on the phone, the connection attempt will fail on the computer.
Well I guess we know now
Samsung still need to incorporate Bluetooth into more models, but they've come a long way since 2004. :D
Re: Buy Qtek 8020 or i-mate Sp3i
As an SDA owner, go for either the 8020 or the SP3i. WM5 doesn't have enough improvements, especially in the 2125, which lacks wifi.
Most of the apps on WM5 are exactly the same as WM2003SE, very little has changed. Your appointments are still handled the same way, phonebook is the same, etc.
Re: Screen in bright daylight
The T610 had a CSTN LCD screen, and the SDA has a transflective TFT LCD screen. There's a world of difference.
But if you like your T610, you can buy a T637 - it has the new TFT LCD and is much much better to read in sunlight and you can see the time without pressing a key to light it up.
Re: Contacts (Entry level)
100 contacts is too small, but it must be an intentional limitation. Thanks for caring, VZW!
Only megapixel camera?
Why not atleast a 2MP camera? 1MP cameras are old hat.
Re: oohhh how ga...i wont go there!!!!!!!!!!
That's asking for too much from Motorola, sorry.

I just got mine in the store for $199 with 2 year activation and $50 mail in rebate. I was a t-mobile customer and did the upgrade.
So is that $199 after rebate or $149 after rebate?
Re: ? for the A630 users
You'll have to get the $20 plan for the SK2, the device will not work without it. Look out for the keypad on the A630, it'll make you file your nails to a point just so you can press those tiny keys.
Re: Star Trek phone
No, HTC makes GSM and CDMA PDA phones as well as PDAs (Dell Axim and others). The Sprint PPC6700 is HTC, Treos are HTC, the list goes on. The Motorola MPX220 wasn't HTC, and it sucked. Coincidence?
Re: How is this different than the IMate SP5m?
The hump (my hump my hump my hump!) is an additional antenna. Check www.smartphonethoughts.com for the findings of their intrepid researcher/neckbeard.
Re: Ringtones
Any you can find. You're best off using mp3, wav or midi ringtones though.
Re: Why not the United States?
Well its here. :D
Re: L6 is most likely a T-Mobile phone.
Nowadays T-Mobile's phones also have 850, so I wouldn't count on it coming to TMO.
Re: Now expensive on dynamism.com!
Its on www.myworldphone.com for $169.
Re: SIM cards suck
You should go to Verizon. There you can pay $20 or whatever for the privilege of taking your phonebook with you from your old phone to the next, and they will probably mess it up for you.
All the phones I've had since 1998 store numbers on the phone itself, so your complaints are moot anyway. If you want to get rid of SIMs just because they don't fulfill an ancillary duty to your satisfaction, you're off the rocker. I ...
x495 from T-Mobile
The x495 has speakerphone and lacks a camera, if that's what you're interested in.
Re: Cingular VS T mobile
I look at it like with AMD vs. Intel. Intel doesn't need my dollars since its so huge, so I support the underdog. I have T-Mobile service and an AMD processor.
Re: GSM VS CDMA
If CDMA wasn't such a closed system with the carriers having all the power, it would be better. As long as phones continue to cost as much as they do, I'll stay with GSM so I don't get burned by my carrier.
Re: SMT 5600 Agile MEssenger
You have to install it from the computer with ActiveSync.
Re: AUDIOVOX SMT5600 PLEASE HELP!
You have to have the battery charged a little bit so that the computer can recognize it as a USB device. If the battery is completely flat, it won't recognize the phone or charge.
You might also need to install ActiveSync 3.8, which you can download from Microsoft.

The software update limits your ability to transfer the mp3 to the fon, not to use it as a ringtone. as long as you keep the card in the fon, you can use mp3s as ringtones.
Other Motorola models can't use ringtones from the memory card, i'm assuming the V710 is the same? :?
Re: Verizon baby!
Well, if you're looking for a basic no-frills phone, why are you discussing this fancy-ass phone with lots of features and not any other phone in the VZW lineup?
Re: Why not the United States?
Don't think so. Such a nice phone.
