Same phone, no difference. Not worth upgrading. You are better off keeping your 755, or just buy a better PDA from another company.

Same-Old Treo... So unbelievably sad how far Palm has fallen...
Jan 1, 2008, 7:30 AM
in the Palm Centro 690 (CDMA) forum

My full review of the Centro: I like the Treo Centro. It runs on the very dependable Sprint CDMA/EV-DO network. But it is the same phone as the Treo 600 that came out back in 2003. Palm decided that since the 600 was such a big success, that they had no need to make any kind of effort in designing a new phone. This holds true with the Centro. This phone has the (((SAME))) hardware as the Treo 600, 650, ...

in the Article: Sprint Names New CEO forum

I understand experience is key, but do you honestly think these old guys know much about those of us customers who use advanced phones and services? These old CEO's are from the land-land age. They don't understand enough about wireless. Most wireless customers still use mainly voice, but they need to keep pushing them to upgrade. Text wasn't used all that much in the USA, now it's common place. We need a CEO who will buy great phones and market ...

I don't think it is that. I think Sprint has some 90 year old man sitting in some basement picking the worst possible phones to add to their network. Sprint has better and faster access and uses Java, but Verizon keeps getting better phones. It's just not fair. Why offer such powerful phones on a network that won't let you use most of the features? Verizon cripples EVERYTHING! And BREW is just horrible. Fire the 90 year old man and ...

It does look like it, but Motorola just makes RAZR-Type designs now. So it could be any number of phones with the same design.

Who bought the phone anyway? You could have bought something better for the same price. Verizon gets powerful LG keyboard-phones, and Sprint offers us the Rumor.....

Just stop selling it altogther.
Jan 1, 2008, 6:54 AM
in the Article: Sprint Halts Sales of LG Rumor forum

The Rumor is an old*** phone. Old spec's, old design, a toy when compared to other phones of the same price. Sprint should just dump all of the Rumors in the trash when they belong.

This will effect AT&T's already weak 3G lineup. And every other GSM carrier who is upgrading. Most 3G vendors use Qualcomm chip sets. Only a hand few don't. So this will cause a lot of problems. Broadcom really doesn't seem to understand that this will hurt them more then Qualcomm.

Knock it off Broadcom!
Jan 1, 2008, 6:47 AM
in the Article: Qualcomm Must Stop Selling Some Chips, Can Continue With Others forum

**** man! You are effecting us customers more then anyone else! GSM doesn't have these problems and Broadcom is making carriers rethink the whole idea of using CDMA and WCDMA. I will never, ever buy anything Broadcom makes! Because of this garbage they keep pulling. Broadcom won't be happy until they kill CDMA and everything it is in and then kills their own company! And that is where this is all going. So while GSM/EDGE/ECT phones are coming out ...

DO NOT PUT THE PHONE UNDER A HEAT LAMP! HORRIBLE IDEA!
Sep 1, 2007, 9:02 AM
in the Nokia N75 forum

A heat lamp is just going to mess the phone up more. It will melt and fry out parts of the phone. Remove the battery from the phone and set the phone outside in the sun for a short time. The light will dry out the water, and the UV rays will prevent the water from making corrosion. A UV light bulb can be used in the same way. Just do not use a normal light bulb. I normally remove ...

Does AT&T really sell feature-rich phones? On the Sprint level?
Sep 1, 2007, 8:53 AM
in the Nokia N75 forum

Okay, I'm new to this whole Cingular thing. I used their services years ago, but they have changed a lot since then. What I am seeing though, is that they claim feature-rich phones, but I don't see anything different. Can the N75, or any AT&T phone play videos out of the storage memory or off of a card? Can it play music that does not have DRM on it? What can be viewed through their video clip store? Is it ...

The iPhone is nothing different. It has the same features as any other PDA, but OH WOW, it can play iTunes music! If you wasted money on iTunes music, which can't be played on other other music player, making you a slave for life to Apple, then you have no clue what is good of not. It is set to start rolling out later this year. Not too much is know yet. There is some talk if the WiMax was to work very well, that Sprint may switch from CDMA to a complete WiMax network within the next 5 to 10 years. But I don't think that is true.

The Verizon version will be locked out. Most of the cool features will not work, seeing as Verizon using BREW, not Java.

Aug 13, 2007, 5:05 AM

It is always stupid when Verizon offers phones like this. RAZR 2 1. Full HTML web browser; Which Verizon will disable. 2. POP Email access; Which Verizon will disable. Unless you spend more. 3. Linux-Java; Which Verizon will disable. 4. Full media player; which Verizon limits to their own content. 5. 500+MHz processor; which Verizon will never let you access the content that would make this type of processor worth it. What is the point?! Verizon offers great phones, with every great featured locked out. I ...

Has anyone else here been using the Linksys wireless router that Sprint is selling for their network? When I asked Sprint they told me that is turns 1 modem card into a Wifi access point or will allow 4 computers to connect to the network at the sametime. This would really be cool when I am at my friends house. There is only copper lines in his apartment building and the speeds are really slow. So if I brought ...

Cingular has as great coverage in Florida? Where? I used to live in Fort Lauderdale, and I never remember anyone making calls in Walmart, Samsclub, or any building with their Cingular phone? Does it better? Who says? The bull **** claims they paid for making it seem they have the fewest dropped calls? The fact that EV-DO cost 1/3 to buildout then WCDMA for about the same speeds? The same will also go for WiMax. I am able to watch MobiTV on the 1x network. Even while roaming. Oh, that is right, Sprint uses roaming as a fall-back, not just to fill in gaps where Cingular does. That means Sprint customers have ...

Not true. The info found in the profile also has settings, not just user info. Sometimes this info be become corrupted for all kinds of reasons. If you have high-speed access, and you get online, but your speeds keep remaining low, can't that be a problem with the settings? Yes. Any tech officer will tell you this. As for the Internet access, you need to update the data services every once and a while. Settings/Power Vision/Update profile. As for the coverage. Do you live in a small town that has grown very fast? If this is the case, then Sprint should be getting ready to build extra towers in their area;look on their web site. your phone could also be to blame. Re: question?
Jun 17, 2007, 9:36 AM

Sprint's network is actually larger then Verizon's and Cingular's already. With roaming, it's 295 million POP, which is the largest. There is also data roaming in place. And it is free. Sprint and Nextel now share towers, but they do not work together. Sprint is going to sell the iDEN network in 2010 and use Nextel's 800Mhz spec to fill in the gaps of their CDMA coverage. Best advice, get a new Sprint CDMA phone with a Roam-Only option. Then ...

There is a service people use to create false caller ID info. This could be the case. Have tech support do a trace-back. They will be able to see if the number is real, faked, or an error. I don't work for Sprint, but I know of the problem.

Everyone alwayscomplains without knowing.
Jun 17, 2007, 9:29 AM

Everyone always complains without knowing. It always drives me crazy when people knock Sprint, or any carrier for that matter without understanding all of the pros and cons of those companies. Do a search, read somethings, Sprint offers the best of everything. Well, almost. I wish they were using the R-UIM cards. They that would shut these stupid GSM freaks up. GSM has nothing over CDMA except for SIM cards.

It depends. Why are you looking to void the contract instead of just paying the fee? Are you having a problem with your service? There is always people you can call to get fees waved. You would need to go into more detail.

Who won't let you change? The M1 is not discontinued, it just isn't being sold on Sprint's web site. I think Sanyo has a new media phone coming. Sprint will let you change the phone anytime. I don't really understand what you are asking for.

Yeah okay AT&T employee. Cingular just copies Sprint. Sprint starting offer mobile TV back in 2001, so Cingular starting using Mobiletv, which Sprint helped build by the way. Sprint stared offering fully media-play phones, so Cingular starting doing it as well. This seems more like Cingular-AT&T incapable of coming up with great ideas, so they steal them. It really doesn't matter at the end of the day anyways. How many complaints have been filed through the BBB against Verizon and ...

How many times are reportes going to make this mistake? Verizon's EV-DO network reaches 148 million POP, in 181 markets. Sprint's EV-DO reaches over 150 million POP, in 215 markets. How can Verizon's EV-DO network be larger? Read the stats before you write an article.
