Re: Touch Pro vs TYTN II
The problem you stated being the glaring reason you did not upgrade is addressed by changing some of the settings on the Fuze.
These settings are easily made using a couple of different programs, which honestly, I've never *not* applied them against *any* HTC-sourced WinMo device supplied by AT&T.
These tweaks are stable tweaks and make the Fuze 100% worth the upgrade, even for someone who spends a great deal of time making changes and customizations to their device.
Re: YouTube??
There is a YouTube application that is already on the device, just not in a place where you usually can find it.
It streams videos just fine.
Here's the explanation from the site that I found it on:

Credit to those who found it. :)
Re: Touch Pro vs TYTN II
I have had every single iteration of a WinMo phone that AT&T has had since the SX66.
This phone is absolutely worth the upgrade for the simple reason of a VGA (640x480) screen. It is beautiful! Through in a accelerometer, like the iPhone has, is great.
And the TouchFLO 3D? Nice addition, but considering I was already using a different interface than WinMo. Albeit, it is nice that that the interface comes with the phone without having ...
Re: WiFi Woes
I have had no difficulties with regards to using the PPC and WiFi networks, you just have no know more about the settings than if you are used to using Windows XP.
Do you know what your SSID is?
Do you know your encryption method? Do you know what your WEP Key strength is? Is it shared or open? Do you know which Transmission key is used? Is your SSID being broadcast?
These sorts of settings aid getting connected ...
Re: When will 8125 arrive in Northeast stores.
I just read an article on CNet about the short supply of the 8125. Here in Sacramento, CA, no retail stores have them in stock.
So, I don't have an answer, just know that you are not alone.
Re: This, I don't understand...
In order to change those sounds, follow these steps:
Start > Settings
On the first tab, choose Sounds and Notifications icon.
From Sounds and Notifications, choose notifications tab.
Drop list contants entries for SMS, E-mail, Voicemail, Missed call, etc.
The list in the drop down of different sounds is made up of the .WAV files containted in the \Windows Directory of the handheld.
Re: Released by Cingular TODAY
FYI --
Cingular has put up this site for instructions/tutorials for teh 81XX series phones (and others it offers):
http://tutorials.cingular.com/tut orial/web...60&tutId=233270
Re: Upgrade from AUDIOVOX 5600 to the SX66?
Cingular is due to release a couple of new phones that are based on the new HTC product line.
You may wish to wait until those new phones are released (by the end of the month) and re-evaluate your decision then.
Re: Sx66 Stoage problems, need some answers
I have had my SX66 for nearly a year, and the 1GB SD card I have had in there will sometimes, unexplainedly, vanish and a soft reset is required.
Don't know if your problem is related, but, that's been my experience.
Re: Compared to Samsung i730?
The biggest difference is that the i730 is offered by VerizonWireless which offers EV-DO, which is essentialy wireless broadband for your cell phone (of couse, limited by available service coverage areas.)
I have heard stories about 400K ~ 600K download speeds on those devices. Awesome...
Re: Windows Mobile 5.0?
The following text is from this forum's title:
Siemens SX66 / MDA III / PDA2K (HTC Blue Angel)
Also, if you go to the XDA DEV site, you'll see the various "versions" the HTC BA has been released under.
Re: Windows Mobile 5.0?
BA = Blue Angel
Get to the third post on this page:

And you can read all about it.

Re: Windows Mobile 5.0?
Actually, I just read a thread on XDA developers where someone actually recieved a BA with WM5.0 already installed.
Waiting to see if the claim is valid...
Re: compare to HP Ipaq
Just by wary when comparing between carriers like that. Verizon uses different cellular tech than Cingular, and where we've had problems with Cingular signal, Verizon signal has been much better.
Re: SX66 clock is missing!??
I have only heard of such a thing by using 3rd party software to display or remove the clock on the bar.
Tweaks2k3 is the software I have seend the list from.
Re: Windows Mobile 5.0?
With only 64 MB of ROM, this device will most likely *not* get the WM5.0 upgrade. Most existing devices that are reportedly getting the upgrade have 128 ROM.
As far as device specs, you could try this site out:

At the bottom, there is a link to the Siemen's website.
Re: from the phonescoop forum...
Consult the manual. ActiveSync and photoID are explained very well in the Cingular manual.
Re: Blackberry email
Do you know if your Exchange server is available via the Internet?
Re: Blackberry email
Not at this time, it is not widely available. HTC has licensed the BB client for PocketPC, but has yet to actually distribute any of the software.
I know that T-Mobile in Germany made it available.
If your company uses Exchange Server 2003, then the phone will sync directly with the exchange server.
Re: SX66 & BlackBerry Software?
HTC licensed the BlackBerry Connect software, but to date, has not made the software available on any released phone.
Re: need help SX66 can not make it work
What exactly can you not make it work?
I would also suggest that you move your request to the SIEMENS SX66-specific forum for additional assistance.
Re: Sooo Stupid a Question, But I Just Do Not Know
If none of that works, your phone may be "hung" and a soft reset may be required.
Re: AIM on the SX66
:D You're very welcome.
Re: MediaNet Help
I think someone else posted this too, but you need to have a plan, like MediaNET, on your account. Otherwise, you will not be able to connect.
Re: AIM on the SX66
The paper regarding the MSN messenger stated to remove the proxy setting from your medianet network connection.
Remove that proxy setting and you should be good to go.
Re: Active Syn Question
Getting a copy of the sent items on the handheld is *not* possible.
Re: SX66 no audio on phone
I had this problem to before performing the ROM update on my phone.
Since then, the problem has not reoccured, but, I have only had the phone flashed now since Thursday (2/24/05).
Re: camara????
The SX66 offered by Cingular does not have a camera.
The i-Mate PDA2k does, and you can purchase it on-line, unlocked, for about $899.00
Re: Replacement Styli?
I found compatible ones on boxwave.com. Look for Blue Angel accessories.
Re: Voice Dialing for the SX66
Perhaps if you had gotten your hands on a *SX66* that might help! :D
DELL Axims rock solid too.
Re: Fantastic Case!
Which case in particular did you buy for the SX66? Which hand-held vendor did you pick?
Re: When Will Cingular® Have This Phone Again?
I agree with your conclusions and your love for the unit.
It rocks for everything that it does, compared to other MS Windows Mobile Edition handsets.
Against full-fledged phones is another story.
Re: Voice Dialing for the SX66
By default, the hand-held only sends phone calls to the BT headset.
I would assume this is the hand-held needs to be placed in voice-rec mode because otherwise, the hand-held would have to listen to everything it heard to see if the head-set wanted to voicedial.
Also, this is a limitation of the BT stack on the hand-held. Future versions may support it with the correct BT headset.
Re: How do you disconnect from GPRS?
OK. So, I found some new software, and this looks like it does the trick, and couple others too.
http://www.gb-soft.cz/XDAII/product_gpr s_tweak_en.htm
Re: How do you disconnect from GPRS?
There's a reg tweak to place the disconnect button on the balloon.
I'll have to dig it out later.
Re: My 1st SX66, need help from u guys!
Hmmm...I haven't heard too many problems about waking up the phone from stand-by mode.
What were you doing with the phone when it went into stand-by mode?
I have went to mobile.msn.com and streamed some content from there. Yes, opening URL would allow you to put in a URL, but, there are settings in WMP that you determine the kind of connect you have to the network.
Re: Outlook Sync
Yes, Network Sync is supported by ActiveSync after the first sync with the PC.
Re: Bluetooth Patch
This might be related to the BT stack problem that has been discussed at length. I too had this problem before applying the BT patch.
Re: My 1st SX66, need help from u guys!
OK. To play MPEG files, use a free player called Beta Player:
http://betaplayer.corecodec.org/
Works really well.
Using IE with general websites is going to be touch and go. Many times, when clicking on thumbnails, it opens another IE window, which doesn't happen on Windows Mobile. This will apply to many sites, in my opinion.
When trying to utilize pages that are not optimized for PIE, you will run into problems.
Regarding 1 GB SD card, I have one in my card ...
Re: Bluetooth Patch
Regarding static bluetooth headsets:
I used the Jabra BT 250, and had horrible static. Then I started to rotate the SX66 and found that the static stopped when the top of the unit pointed to my headset.
So, the static issue *may not* be a SW issue, but instead, a HW issue. I have used the Jabra BT110 and the Motorola HS820 headset without having a static issue.
