Touch Pro vs TYTN II

Is the fuze/touch pro really that much better than the tilt/tytn II. i mean the fuze to me seems to be the newer version of the 8525 since it has flash and doesn't tilt. I tried going a week without tilting my tilt but couldn't do it and to mean the only real upgrade from the tilt to the fuze is the flash. yes the internet is faster physically (7.6mbps vs my 3.6mbps tilt) but that speed isn't available in my area anyway. both phones have 3mp cameras both have 32gb max micro sd capabilities not that 32 exists yet. and although the TV out feature seems cool and honestly quit usable in many situations the fact that att mobility doesn't ship the phone with the cable is a huge drawback. I'm done ranting let me know what you think out there people...

I carried the tilt for a year and just got the fuze. The screen is beutiful but to small to use in my opinion. So is the keyboard which means your going to lose some functionality but it does have really nice features. Honestly is was not for me so i exchanged it for the bold. I think it would be best for you to just buy one, try it out, and if you don't like it then return it.

I agree. I've had my Tilt for a year, so I went to check out the Fuze when it came out. My main complaints about the Tilt are the slow GUI and the low resolution.

But, the GUI seemed almost as laggy on the Fuze...definitely not enough of an improvement to justify spending $100's to upgrade.

My main disappointment, though, was the lack of buttons at the bottom. I guess people are buying into Steve Jobs's hatred of buttons, but I don't see why. I use the Start button, e-mail button, and OK buttons on my Tilt constantly for one-handed operation. I don't see how you could do much one-handed operation of the Fuze. The Start button on the touchscreen is way too small to easily hit with your finger. Am I missing something?

I have had every single iteration of a WinMo phone that AT&T has had since the SX66.

This phone is absolutely worth the upgrade for the simple reason of a VGA (640x480) screen. It is beautiful! Through in a accelerometer, like the iPhone has, is great.

And the TouchFLO 3D? Nice addition, but considering I was already using a different interface than WinMo. Albeit, it is nice that that the interface comes with the phone without having to add something new. And the TouchFLO is also designed not to require the use of a stylus. A big plus.

The Fuse is smaller and lighter than the Tilt. Longer lasting OEM battery. Slightly faster processor.

All in all? I got this phone the day it dropped from AT&T, just like every other WinMo ...

The first thought of the Touch interface is to make it more simpler than the Windows Mobile system. The "swipe" and button icons make it simpler for first time users. Also, the companies want people to jump into the PDA/smartphones rather than getting another free phone with limited functionality.

I've used both phones and find that off-hand, the FUZE is easier to use. The Tilt does have larger keys, but fewer of them, and a bit larger screen. The fewer buttons does make quick access on the go alot easier and you still have the sytlus when trying to press on the small windows options.

With more apps, better functionality, and a brighter future. This phone is better than the iPhone in my case.

Put it this way, you cannot get FLA...

I have a Tilt and like it. I took a long look at the Fuze at an AT&T store, and while it has a few minor improvements I ultimately decided not to upgrade.

Pro: VGA resolution is very nice.
Pro: HSPA 7.2 will eventually be nice.
Pro: TouchFLO 3D is nice

Con: front surface is a finger print magnet
Con: VGA isn't actually that useful - web browsing can't be done while zoomed out
Con: keys on the slide-out keyboard are smaller
Con: d-pad is horrible. really, truly, awful.
Con: front surface keys lack tactile response
Con: the tilting screen on the Tilt is actually really useful... but missing on the Fuze
Con: despite faster processor and more memory, still sluggish

That last one was the killer for me. Since the only real comp...

The problem you stated being the glaring reason you did not upgrade is addressed by changing some of the settings on the Fuze.

These settings are easily made using a couple of different programs, which honestly, I've never *not* applied them against *any* HTC-sourced WinMo device supplied by AT&T.

These tweaks are stable tweaks and make the Fuze 100% worth the upgrade, even for someone who spends a great deal of time making changes and customizations to their device.
