Re: for the b\t Obex and UI talk
They do cripple the Bluetooth profiles on the phones. I have class action paperwork for my V710 because of it. Verizon has now adjusted their advertising and the people who brought it to court are now thinking of taking on the Bluetooth standards group.
They assert that OBEX is an essential part of Bluetooth and that is should not be limited for profit. It is because the OBEX capability allows the sychronization and movement of ...
Re: for the b\t Obex and UI talk
The network has NOTHING to do with it. It is the firmware on the phone.
Re: Dropped e815 in water! Darnit lol
You are incorrect that I am an employee. This is an unfortunate assumption that you have made. There is an old saying that refers to assumptions, but I will refrain from childish tantrums and make my point using other means.
Yes I have a problem with people like you always getting your way. People like you refuse to accept responsibility for your own decisions and actions and expect someone else to accept the blame. ...
Re: Dropped e815 in water! Darnit lol
I have to agree with jim. It was your accident. I have four phones from Verizon and carry insurance on only one of those. This is a calculated risk though. The one phone I carry it on is a V710 and the replacement cost justified the coverage. The other three were the 49.99 phones and did not justify the cost since replacing the phone through insurance costs 50.00 plus the monthly fees. I ...
Re: Any news on that V710 settlement?
I think the two biggest differences is that the e815 does not function in analog mode and that it is EV-DO compliant (faster downloads). The V710 is 1xRTT compliant only.
Re: WE ALL NEED TO COMPLAIN: HERES HOW
Bluetooth would be a standard but only based on the frequency and the communication protocols it might use, not the features of the equipment?
I don't think it is fraud on Verizon's part, but I do think it is reminiscient of monopolistic tactics. If I remember correctly it used to be on landlines that only the phone companies' phones could be used for (their) fear third party devices would harm the system. It was not really true, only ...
Re: Anyone think this is a hoax?
I noticed it the first week when I was testing the zoom using a window as the focus. When everything you are looking at is plumb and level, it is very obvious. I just wasn't that concerned about it.
Re: Good looking phone, one drawback...Mr. Frisch13
I would have to agree. It is a tank. I've dropped it, dropped then kicked it, dropped it in water, and it is still going strong. It picks up a signal great too.
I just wish they would make the new ones without the stupid camera. I'm sure the novelty is great for kids, but I would really like better things such as bluetooth for a wireless headset.
It seems as if Motorola is ...
Re: Analog?
NOBODY has a perfect digital network. If you want to compare. I used Sprint and AT&T previously and they are both smaller than Verizon, with Sprint bringing up the rear. Nextel which my brother uses for his company phones is even smaller and they have NO analog capability.
I live in a rural area and travel cross country both flying and driving on a regular basis. As of right now nobody provides better coverage than Verizon. ...
Re: NO CAMERA!!
You can't make every phone with cameras. Some people work in areas that require security and won't allow a camera phone on the premises. This is why such a wide selection is available
