C'mon Sammy! Revised model?

No micro SD card is an absolute deal breaker. A move like this most definitely pushes me away. Hopefully, a revised model is in the works. I don't keep any sensitive/personal data/media on my internal storage. All pictures, videos, and documents are kept externally. If I were to ever damage my device to the point of needing a replacement, it's a must that I'm able to pull the micro Sd card. It just gives me piece of mind. I don't really ...

$50 Play Store Credit to Galaxy Note 3 Owners
Nov 20, 2013, 9:36 AM
in the Verizon forum

Samsung is offering a $50 Play Store credit for all the current and new owners of Galaxy Note 3 in the US. The promotion should help maintain the strong performance of the company’s phablet flagship during the holiday season. All the Galaxy Note 3 owners, who purchase their device on or before January 6, will be eligible to claim the offer. You have to register your phone number, IMEI and a few other details with Samsung, before you redeem your ...

Wow, I actually think the back cover and icons are pretty nice. When you say matching icons, are you referring to the color scheme, design, both, or something else? Software wise, I haven't used TouchWiz since I had my Omnia 2, but from what I've seen regarding the Note 3, it seems to be intuitive and functional. What are the bad directives that I am missing?

Thanks for covering all of the details on the Note 3. Well done! I'm patiently waiting to purchase it on Verizon. I've had my Samsung Galaxy Nexus since the day it was released, and it has served me very well for nearly two years. However, I have been wanting a more powerful device for quite a while now. My upgrade became available on Aug 15th, 2013, and I cannot wait to own the Note 3! It's the only smart phablet ...

It's a very basic device, and brings nothing new or innovative to the table. The only consumers who love it and are blown away are previous iPhone owners. That's because they have had to endure the lackluster offerings of the iPhone 4/4s for so long that any improvements are welcomed. Those of us who are accustomed to using killer devices are looking at this mediocre piece of hardware like, "Huh? This is all it has to offer? Really?" It's ...

That's very interesting. I wonder what CPU/GPU chipset it'll be running. Could it be the Dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9/PowerVR SGX540 combo, without the CPU under-clock? If so, being that I have the Verizon version, I can't wait for the kernel source to leak for Sprint's offering.

Excerpt taken from a hands-on review... Keep in mind that the Galaxy Nexus does not have a microSD card slot, so there is no way to expand the memory. Take this into account before you decide to purchase the 16GB model. We recommend the 32GB model if you're undecided, though this model appears harder to find than the 16GB one. Seems that there isn't a memory car slot after all...

Sorry to hear that DAntiVirus. Maybe the website isn't receiving the data correctly. Are you attempting this from your phone or PC? On my PC, I completed the process successfully with Google Chrome. You could give that a try, or give Internet Explorer a shot (for this process only). I find that IE sometimes works better on certain websites than other browsers. Just to test, I also successfully saved changes from my Droid Incredible using Dolphin Browser Mini as well ...

I agree Mac...this is crushing news. Even though the spec sheet doesn't look too impressive, I will take a look at the Bionic. Not sure if it's a better choice than the Droid 3. LTE isn't a deal breaker for me. What about you guys/gals? And what are everyone's thoughts on the HTC Vigor? 4G LTE 1.5 GHz Dual-Core Processor Android OS 2.3.4 1280x720 HD Display Bluetooth 3.0 (SIG Certified 8-25-11) HTC Sense 3.5 Beats by Dr. Dre Audio Technology http://www.gottabemobile.com/20 11/08/25/htc-vigor-gets-bluetooth-3-0-certifi cation-from-sig/

...considering how clueless Verizon is as a whole. They're always late to the table with high-end technology. I've been holding off on my two year upgrade since 2-28-2011 because every release from VZW has been laughable. The Bionic is no different. It's a pretty lackluster device now. The HTC Vigor is the only offering to truly look forward to. If it doesn't drop ~October 5th as expected, or at least by the last week of Oct., I'm porting my number over ...

Well said, and I agree. I'm sure you'll be very happy with your DI2 Audrey. Please keep us posted on your experience with the device. I must admit, I'm curious to hear from someone who is actually going to use it on a regular basis. I assumed that your husband was the techie with having an advanced device such as the DI and all, but turns out it's the wife! Awesome! Until recently, I was quite the phone fanatic as well. ...

@ Victek Yes, that's what I was referring to. GingerSense (a nickname which has stuck) is Gingerbread w/Sense UI (v2.x). The differences between Android 2.2 & 2.3 are pretty significant. http://www.differencebetween.co m/difference-between-android-2-2-froyo-and-an droid-2-3-gingerbread/ However, if you can ask a question such as that, you're definitely among the millions of consumers who have just enough curiosity to research what is truly in their best interest. Why settle? Waiting just a bit longer will allow you to get a device which actually lives up to its value. ...

I agree. It'll be underwhelming for sure. Many of those who do purchase it will, at some point within their 30 days, realize that they have made a mistake and most likely switch it for the Thunderbolt, which is superior in many aspects. The realization of waiting a short while longer before upgrading will also become a factor. Consumers, even 1st timers, who specifically go looking for smartphones (which seems to be the norm these days), are intelligent enough to ...

...definitely not worthy to be the successor to the original DI. With 3G only, single core, laughable internal storage, no Gingersense, and 480x800 resolution, they totally screwed this up. Consumers who want an okay, 3G, single-core solution will go with the Thunderbolt. The DI2 is a joke device. It should have been released on April 1st. Good comparison here: https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/comp are.php?id%5B%5D=3076&id%5B%5D=3043&id%5B%5D= 3103&id%5B%5D=3249&id%5B%5D=3223 In the very near future, Verizon is going to find itself stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I surely hope so as a huge part of the new service being successful will definitely boil down to available devices. A couple of good smartphones would make it much more attractive. The three compatible "phones" they're planning to offer now are pretty bad. I wouldn't be opposed to paying $60 monthly for smartphone devices.

Quite a few dual-core smartphones have been released on other networks already, and with Verizon scheduled to have the Motorola Droid Bionic added to its lineup soon, the Droid Charge isn't worth it at all. At this point, who's really willing to pay $299 for a single core smartphone? The Thunderbolt wasn't even priced as high at launch, and it's just as good a device. The Super AMOLED Plus display will be gorgeous, no doubt, but what good is ...

I received my Incredible on pre-order ($229.00 for 1 year as opposed to $199.99 for 2 years) as scheduled. I believe the date was April 19th or 20th of 2010. Ten months later, Feb. 2011, my upgrade became available. You are aware that your upgrade cycle is every 10 months for 1 year contracts, and 20 months for 2 year plans? I've been opting for the 1 year contract over the last few years. Being able to switch devices after just 10 months was a big selling point for me. I don't know about you guys/gals, but this is too much. I can't believe this is a rational option for them. I spend the extra cash for the 1 year contract because of its convenience.
