Re: Looks fierce
I have used Sonim phones before. They are tougher than any other handsets out there.
I currently have the Kyocera DuraPlus. I would love to get my hands on this one!!
Re: Nextel phones are no longer available on Sprint.com
I got the Kyocera DuraPlus, it is similar to my wonderful old i365 iDEN phone. I really like it.
Nextel phones are no longer available on Sprint.com
Was browsing Sprint's website, and they took down all of their iDEN phones. Nextel is officially done. End of an era of exceptional PTT.
Re: Could ATT become the next Sprint and start bleeding customers?
Sprint is still posting quarterly net losses, whereas AT&T is not. Sprint is actually struggling to survive right now, and I am not thrilled as I like Sprint, but it is struggling to keep up with Verizon and AT&T. Getting the iPhone is good, but Sprint won't see the financial benefit of that for a few years yet. Yes, Sprint has the best prices, but I used their 3g network and it is slower than Verizon's ...
Re: Good...
But if they did that then they would....be VERIZON!
AT&T Wireless ran itself into the ground.
AT&T Wireless had only two choices: be bought out, or close its doors. AT&T Wireless could not be left alone because years of corrupt management and poor service and lack of network maintenance left the carrier bleeding itself to death.
It was either Cingular or Vodafone, and in the end Cingular won, but it over paid by several billion for AT&T Wireless
Go with AT&T
You're biased against CDMA so go with AT&T.
If you think you've been slammed, you obviously are a noob.
I have seen what real slamming is like on these forums, and you are weren't slammed. You were given a reality check. These people were actually nice to you.
If you want to know what real slamming looks like, peruse through past threads and you'll see..
I think Verizon has a solid line up of Smart Phones.
Most notably:
Motorola Droid X 2 (which I have and love)
iPhone 4 (which I did have and loved, but I like my Droid better)
LG Revolution which is LTE capable
Casio Hitachi Commando (first rugged smartphone for you heavy duty people)
Samsung Droid Charge (another LTE phone)
All of these phones get solid reviews. But you personally do not like them, I am sure AT&T or T-Mobile would be happy to have you.
Re: what flavor is that?
It's pickled flavored kool-aid.
Yes I did have Sprint.
Sprint's customer service is very good. I left Sprint for Big Red because I moved to an area where Sprint did not have coverage. But Sprint was and is good.
Re: ETF Question
I meant etf, not efc, sorry.
Re: ETF Question
Your ETF is determined by the type of phone you activated when you originally signed up or upgraded your service. If you activated a feature phone, but originally signed on or renewed with a smart phone, your EFC will be based on the smart phone.
Verizon's customer service.
Dear Verizon,
Every time I call you, I always enjoy talking to your friendly reps. My questions are always answered and my issues are resolved quickly, and you guys actually engage in conversation with me! Thank you for your high level of customer service. I originally signed on to Verizon for the coverage, but the reason I will stay with you is your customer service. I love you!

Hahahahaaa!
Shaniqua?! That is too funny!
I agree.
I can find the SAR value VERY easily. Hell, CNET dot com lists the SAR for EVERY phone they review, and they review everything on their site. Laws like these are unneccesary and they will only make us lazier and less responsible, and this is NOT what we need. People need to take responsibility for themselves in this country or America will never get back on the right track.
Re: You just described....
What you are is a hard working employee whose hard work deserves to be recognized. I am sorry more of us customers don't take the time to say thank you for what you do for us.
As a Verizon Wireless customer who has had the other 3.
I strongly disagree with you Jayshmay. Verizon employees are by far the friendliest, most helpful employees I have encountered in the numerous years I have had cellular service. I have never once encountered an arrogant Verizon employee in the stores, or on call. Every time, I have had a pleasant experience.
I am thankful that there are people willing to work in industry who are STILL willing to be good to nice customers like me, even though 90% ...
Maybe...
Maybe he was pissed off because he found out that Jesus actually did not come back to life and that all his time going to church was for nothing.
Question.
Pickles, are you kosher dill? I love kosher dill!

That's because we like you. :-) You have been on Phonescoop for a long time now. And you have Nextel, so yeah, you rock!
Re: Nextel18, are you still with Nextel, or did you switch?
I am glad you are still on the Nextel network. I am sure you are not happy about Sprint shutting down iDEN at the end of 2013. I personally am not happy with the eventual shutdown, because iDEN was such a great technology for radio and voice. In fact, when other networks were down in a natural disaster situation, Nextel was the only one that stayed up because the towers communicate PTT directly to other Nextel ...
I have Verizon, but I reactivated my Nextel phone on Boost.
I love both Verizon and iDEN, so I have my precious Motorola i365 activated on Boost's a dime a minute prepaid plan. I actually went over my minutes this last month, so I have been using my iDEN service during the day, and then VZW for night calling.
Nextel18, are you still with Nextel, or did you switch?
Hi Nextel18, I was just curious, do you still have Nextel iDEN service? I had Nextel for a year and I loved it, but then I moved to an area where Nextel had very poor reception, so I switched over to Verizon. I do miss my Motorola i365 phone. That was one tough phone that could get signal (when I was in a service area).
Verizon is like other carriers.
It has its share of network problems now and then too. I think the reason why 3G drops down to 1X is primarily based on your proximity. In some areas you can only get a 1X signal on the Network. Frankly, I'd rather have 1X then no service. Voice is the primary importance of cellular service in my opinion. Cellular phones are tools for communication.
Honestly, I have had all four major carriers and I travel ...

you complete me. let's get married?
Oh how romantic! Of course I'll marry you. What state shall we live in?
Re: Why I love Verizon Wireless!
Don't give Starbucks any ideas!
I don't work for VZW
I get a discount because I work for a state university.
Re: Why I love Verizon Wireless!
Pickles isn't pickles unless they are ripping someone..
Re: that's a steal
Yes, epic, I did get the basic iPad for the clearance deal due to the iPad 2. I am deeply in love with my iPad and in fact, I learned it is legal to marry a gadget in Canada. So long story short, me and my iPad are registered at Macy's if you feel like buying us a wedding present.
Re: Are Nextel usere able to roam in Southern Linc areas?
boggerscbshop said:
I travel to Baxley Ga. and have no service. Southern Linc works great there. I had to cancel and go to Verizon. Just wondering if Nextel will work there or not.
I used to have Nextel too, but I had to switch to Verizon because they offer better coverage. I got the Casio Ravine which is similar to a Nextel phone in that it is rugged, and has PTT. I love the phone and love Verizon's coverage.
Re: Why I love Verizon Wireless!
I paid less than 400 dollars for my iPad. Thank you very much.
Re: Why I love Verizon Wireless!
A Verizon logo..
Re: Why I love Verizon Wireless!
They are very durable. I love it, no more worries about my iPad
Even with AT&T and T-Mobile networks combined, they don't beat VZW coverage
Verizon's network still has more coverage than AT&T and T-Mobile's networks combined. Compare the coverage maps for their native networks, and you'll see.
Re: Dear Sprint
Ok, I think I can become a billionaire by 2357...
Re: Dear Sprint
There is nothing we can do. Every politician is influenced by corporate funding. The FCC will approve the merger, but of course, ATT will have to do some serious divesting. I can see the FCC requiring ATT to divest some of it's landline operations, much like Sprint did in order to acquire Nextel.
Sprint should buy US Cellular and then they can compete better
A Sprint- USC merger would expand Sprint's coverage, expand it's customer base, and allow it to better compete in the market. Sprint should also look into buying out Cricket and Metro PCS as well.

it's just astounding to me that people in this country are so ignorant. how long will it be before corporate america runs everything? soon, politicians will just be corporate puppets (even more so than they already are) and people will STILL be totally oblivious to why most of the country is living pay check to pay check
Corporations already control this country. Both parties are already puppets to the corporations. Where have you been? And ...
