And besides who uses helio anyway?? So this news update is pretty meaningless. Because anyone who even cares about push e-mail would not have helio as a carrier.
i do, been pretty pleased with it, at least i don't get raped for data charges from verizon or at&t, and i don't have to pay extra to get my push email :)
Re: I thought sprint had Sprint Mobile Email...
some of your comparisons don't really match: 1)helio has an exclusive myspace app which has more functionality then the mobile website 2)just cause a few samsungs support uploading function doesn't mean the carrier has created a streamlined, universal application 3)family locator doesn't provide the same functionality as buddy beacon.
you sound a little bit like a helio hater in your post. just admit, they have come out with some cool features.....not saying that other carriers haven't ...
Re: Verizon
doubt it, helio phones are usually exclusive. a different version maybe, but not the same model.
Helio charging for YouTube access!
Apparently Helio has decided to charge $5.99/month to access the new mobile youtube site (m.youtube.com). Isn't youtube supposed to be free to all, and didn't Helio say that they wouldn't "nickle and dime" their customers?
Re: What's the addy?
the file format is .3gp and your phones might not support that format....

The HSDPA version (V9) runs the synergy interface, the CDMA version, and the EDGE version (V8) run the linuz interface.
not true, CDMA version runs synergy, not linux. V8 is the only version that runs linux.
Re: Will be the best verizon phone period!
it can't be that much different though, right? isn't verizon trying to keep there UI common between all of their phones.
even if it is new, it will still suck in comparison to the new motorola ui, and i'm sure verizon will go ahead and disable all your bluetooth profiles and file management capabilities.
verizon ui = phone neutered :o
Re: Verizon
also, the CDMA versions will have some other watered-down features, such as bluetooth 1.2 instead of 2.0 and 65k color screens instead of 262k
Re: CDMA?
also, if you continue to look at the specs, the V9M has crappier screens (65k colors instead of 262k colors) and older bluetooth (class 2 V 1.2 instead of class 2 V 2.0) 8O

Also speed wize they all have a 500mhz processor....wow thats the fastest ive heard of on any phone so far. 10 times faster than old razr
actually, if you look at the specs on the motorola website for the razr2, you will find that the V9M (CDMA version) only has a 225 Mhz processor. only the V8 and the V9 get the 500 Mhz processor.
imo, the V9M will be very watered down once Verizon and Sprint get done ...
windows media player
so i read that the V8 has windows media player 11 and can download from music stores.... does this mean that i could download directly to my phone using my napster subscription?
Re: Size
actually, if you click on more info and look at the specs (bottom of page) the dimensions are 104 x 50 x 16.4 mm, so smaller face but a little fatter than the iphone (not bad for having a sliding keyboard though)
Re: NV Memory?
The flash memory in the 6700 is non-volatile, so it'll still be there if your battery goes dead.
MPx(300)
Does anyone know if any U.S. carriers will have this phone, or when it's official release is? They are starting to pop up on ebay and I've seen lots of picture of this phone, but so far I haven't seen anything on phonescoop or on motorola's website.
treo 650 on amazon (sprint)
The Treo 650 is showing up on Amazon.com with Sprint as the provider. Not in stock yet, but the price is shown as $569.99 with service plan. No sign of the Verizon version yet.
