I like

Jun 24, 2009 by ctunney

I chose this over the Versa and other media heavy phones mostly because of the size. I like it so far.

I like:
-a solid phone
-pretty bare bones, which I like. not a bunch of junk I don't care about
-good enough camera
-good enough texing for my 100 texts/month. T9 much better than my last phone.
-cool design/layout
-very slim. the main reason I bought it.
-can customize all shortcuts, which is very important.

I don't like:
-the directional key is a little bit of a pain
-the voice quality isn't as clear as my old phone (E815)
-ditto of the speaker-phone
-the battery cover is pretty cheese. good for maybe a 40 yr old suburban mom, which I am not. If I can't find a simple black one on-line, I will have to get out the permanent marker.

Great phone!

This is a really solid phone. It's extremely easy to use, very small, and has many options, and has a nice battery life. :)

PROS:
~ Thin and small.
~ Many menu options, font options, and a bunch of other cool options, etc
~ Has a nice camera
~ Very easy to use
~ Very durable, I dropped it several times, and it's still perfectly fine.
~ Has a really long battery life, even with heavy/ moderate use.
~ Very quick and easy to text on.
~ Sound quality loud and clear.
~ Has good reception.

CONS:
~ No video camera
~ Recordings come out really fuzzy sometimes.

Overall, it's a great phone. It has many cool stuff, without being a complicated phone. I love it! :)

Better than average

Alright. When I first played around with the phone I wasn't too excited about the tiny buttons, but since my fingers are small I decided to give it a go. Here's what I liked about the phone:

Pros:
Very small and compact.
The screen size and brightness is very impressive!

The fact that it doesn't open up (like a clam shell phone) means it is easier to handle. Well for me anyway.

The color is very sleek looking. Okay, maybe boring but it could have been a worse generic color, like brown.

Most things are available with this phone as with other phones.
ie:

-T9 Word predictive text and the "next" button when scrolling through word possibilities.

-Decent, pre-saved ringtones,

-I really like how you can move around and change the icons you really need for the beloved menu screen.

-The shortcut pop-up menu

-The Address space when editing contact details is very useful.

-The camera isn't great. Okay, it sucks!

-The phone to PC cord. Probably a generic thing. I haven't owned a new phone for a long time. Can you tell?

Now for the cons:

-Very uncomfortable when holding to ear. No place to put hand.

-No memory card slot, means no card to PC picture transfer and limited memory space.

-The lame joystick. Mine keeps thinking I am pressing DOWN when attempting to press IN.

-No way to re-select words when texting. (This and the joystick are the two things I despise.)

-Speaker quality is terrible. I e-mailed some fun ringtones to my phone but they sounded too loud for the speakers. I'll have to settle for the generic ones until I find a solution.

-And really, what's up with the Star Trekkie back? I've had about 10 people ask me if I bought that thing separately. It's ruining my chances with the females. Can you say lame? I can.

-No space for notes for contacts. That is one thing I really loved about the LG EN-V.

Overall, I give the LG Glance 3 and a half stars. If I could get rid of one thing it would be the joystick, and switch it for arrows. Good Job LG!
