"Silent" Mode ???

Does anyone know how to put the lg env on Silent? Without changing every sound option? I had the Motorola E815 & it was one of the choices (loud, vibrate, silent, etc) I have the lg set to no ringtone- so it doesn't ring -but I still get text alerts, missed call alerts, voice mail alerts etc... Any thoughts you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

pushing the outside "master volume" button until it reads "All Sounds Off" doesn't work for you?

Yeah that's all you have to do, and you can also put your enV on Vibrate mode and alarm only mode as well if you were wondering...

But when the phone is on silent mode, the phone will still alert you when you have a new e-mail (mobile e-mail). The handset will vibrate even when on silent mode. do you know how to fully silence the phone?

thanks in advance.

uhh as far as i know, just use the leftside volume rocker and scroll down to either vibrate mode, alarm only , or silence all mode and that'll work for everything. That'as as far as i know. I hope that helps. 🙂 😁

Yeah; but unfortunately, even when the phone is on 'silent' mode using the left side rocker, when a new e-mail is received through Mobile Email, the phone will vibrate.

I'd rather not turn off the e-mail alerts (I'm sure some people need to know when they get any new e-mail). But I wish there were a way to override this setting so that the entire phone is silenced - including mobile email alerts. Because as of right now, the only way to silence my phone is to turn it off - silencing it does not silence the mobile e-mail alerts.

True and I definitely understand what you mean. I unfortunately don't use the mobile email function yet although I really wish I did. hahaha. Sorry i can't be more helpful but i'm not 100% sure on this ...

Yeah; hopefully VZW will release an update or something to either Mobile Email that will fix this (or provide a switch) that will enable Mobile Email to override the phone's volume setting.

oh man dude this is the best phone I've even owned! I absolutely love it. The other day my flight was delayed b/c of thunderstorms. I had to wait 45 min (which I know isn't THAT long) in a FULL coach class seat on a DC9 aircraft. But since I had my BT stereo headset, I watched the Simpsons in Japan episode which was pretty cool. It was funny the passenger next to me had his e-mail open on his BlackBerry, but he was looking at my enV's screen 🙂 I was kinda laughing (inside).

yeah I COMPLETELY agree w/ you in face i loveeeee my enV so much as well. I've got all the accessories for my phone. It's funny that whenewver I am on a plane and the stewardess tells you to turn your phone off, i just hide mine, then when they're not looking, i put music mode on turns off the reception and leaves the BT on so i can use my Motorola S9 stereo bluetooth headphones which is amazing by the way. The memory card can hold soo much stuff and videos that're downloaded are CRYSTAL CLEAR! All my friends and family are surprised when they see my phone and they all comment on it over and over. I laugh on the inside as well. It's a good feeling. !

haha - oh yeah 😎. I'm so glad VZW released this phone - it really has a good number of features considering that it is not a PDA phone. And it's slim too. I can't wait to see what the next generation of this phone will look like - maybe either the VX9950 or the VX10,000!

Hells yeah. There's nothing wrong w/ the phone at all. I mean of course I try to be as careful w/ it as I can be and not drop it and I must admit that i'm pretty anal about dust on my phone, but yeah it's pretty durable for a phone with a full qwerty keyboard on it which makes typing a breeze of course.!

Lol yeah - actually I still haven't taken off the clear front plastic protective cover that was on the phone when I got it 😁 Most people don't notice it until they take a careful look at it though - lol.
