Is the support for 4GB cards for real, or is that just a rumor? (No one can really test it, since the cards aren't available yet, right?)

they are in. you have to ask for them. they only made them available to the 9400 users. they have them in the back. $109.99 the tech showed it to me when they flashed my phone. 2gb is good enough, for now.

Wow, that's one hell of an upgrade list for the enV! I don't need 4 gigs. I barely need 2 gigs worth of memory. lol. As far as the other software updates, yeah those will be nice improvements but i'll just have to see how the phone functions after i get the update to it.

Obviously 4 GB would allow for more storage, but is there another reason that they are releasing this huge sized memory card?
Are they planning to release some service (or new model of the enV with MediaFlo)that will require more memory space to operate properly - such as recording VCast TV show clips to your phone?
Or is it simply just extra storage space?

i gotta assume its mostly for Mp3s and maybe for pics and vids.

i dont think 4GB is that much when youre talking music. These days, people wanna store their entire music collection onan mp3 player. I can easily fill much more than that.

What's the deal with the bitpim lockout?

Can you provide more detail on how to get around it?

The BitPim Lockout is verizons way of saying screw You. You better buy from our get it now service if you want anything like ringtones or sounds for your phone and anything that you do to manage your phone. Verizon Sucks when it comes down to it they spend billions and billions of dollars on their network and they put it back to the customers to pay for it. Thats why they locked you and myself out from all the good stuff that you can transfer to your phone from bitpim so that you are forced to buy them at good quality. I say screw you Verizon. Sorry man. But hopefully bitpim will come out with an update that will go around the phones lockout with the new software update.

Yes, QPST should work, it's specifically for manipulating phones that use the Qualcomm chipset. (LG's included)
People were saying that a workaround to the BitPim block is to put your phone into NV-edit mode (or DM mode) using LG Download prior to connecting with BitPim. But I'm still not sure that that is necessary. Until the newest version of BitPim comes out (which will work for the v.02 enV) the old version may work, read this:
"Bitpim can set the phone to DM mode. There is no need to use LGDownload at all. Just use bitpim to read the phone's phonebook and you will have read/write access to the files on the filesystem."
👀
Take it for what it's worth, I haven't tried yet.

Is the software update someone can do on there own or do you need to go into a VZW store?

well i did the software update myself to my phone with the program LG download but the thing is i wouldnt recommend doing it on your own because one mistake could cost you your phone because it would corrupt your software on your phone and causing it to be scrapped if you want to take the chance make sure you download the new software bin file for the enV which is T99VZV02 and put it through the LG download software click on upgrade phone and wait 15-25 min depending on how much memory you are using on your phone and make sure you have a full charge on your phone before attempting to do this because you cannot afford it to shut down on you it would again be scrapped if it happends during the upgrade process. Goodluck

Sounds like you switched on "autoplay" either by accident, or the update somehow changed it for you.
