Sharp Hiptop 3 / Sidekick 3
Sort of a let down...
😕 .. I dont know. I checked out some reviews and the screen still looks washed out and it looks just as big if not bigger. Yea the features are hot on it ... but with everything trying to be thinner and waiting so long jsut to get a 1.3mpx camera... And comparing this to the price of the Q its almost not worth it... I guess its your call. 🙄

I just saw it for the first time, and it is soo not a let down! 😁
It is smaller, and easier to hold. The color is very nice. The screen is kind of the same, but I must say its a step up. I have the Juicy Sidekick 2 and I cant wait to get a SK3! The new scroll thing is so cool! It is such a nice device! It is not dissapointing at all! Just wait and see it for yourself!

nice i had 2 juicy sidekick 2's. first one broke which was kinda sucked. but idk about the sidekick 3, it doesn't seem like it's worth 400$. i was considering switching service and getting the motorola q.

I'm with you on this. They chose to add a bunch of whizz-bang features to put on the front of the box, and aside from a faster loading browser, didn't address any real issues with the SK2. I would even argue they devolved the keyboard while attempting to make it look "cooler."
The thing is, Danger understands its market (and its market dominance), as evidenced by the types of messages you see on this forum. Young-ish people with enough disposable income (or parents' income) that rational decisions aren't part of the equation. There's a reason the menu system is cartoon-like and the commercialization is so heavily pimped on MTV. "Improving ergo-whatsits? Pfft, that's for old people. Give me an MP3 player even though I already own an iPod!"...

you're kidding me right? anything is a step up from the sk2 keypad... although i can see thise "mouse" breaking within a few months (like how old computer mice go bad from the rollers on the inside breaking down)...
its nice to finally have something new after so long with the sk2 (had 1 then 2 on 1st day), but i would agree that it could be heavily improved...

alot of people compare the SK 3 to having the SK2 but think abotu the people that didn't have the SK2 or SK1, Danger has to keep them in the loop to make a better phone ..
i've never had the Sk2 or 1, and my contract is up so now i can get the SK3 for like 100$, so it's worth it to me since i've never had a "smart" phone such as this one
Tmobile/danger didn't let anyone down, they're slowly making things better to keep the "out of the loop" people in tune

I think you are right but tmobile should have givin some sort of deal to current sidekick 2 owners.. i mean these phones arent cheap and for a current owner to say i want to pay for a new one or upgrade there should b something extra that peoople who dont keep up with the technology shouldn't get. i guess i think that the sidekicks loyal customers should get something extra but thats just me
