i still dont get if you have to get the sidekick plan when you buy a sidekick. what would happen if i dont?

if u have the sidekick on a family plan, depending on how many u have, it is $20 per sidekick for the unlimited sidekick plan

I think when you buy the a sidekick, the package known as 'sidekick unlimited' is an automatic addition for an active handset.
It costs $20 a month for unlimited internet, instant messaging, text/picture mail, and you get a 6 MB email account.
I don't think there's an option to not get the sidekick plan, but if there is then you would pay for all those aforementioned services per use or per kilobyte which would exceed $20 very quickly. So if you're getting a sidekick, then you'll want to get 'sidekick unlimited'.
