listening to music with bose headphones

I purchased the 8525 at Cingular. They sold me a Motorola USB adaptor that would enable me to plug in my bose or sony noise cancelling headsets. It doesn't work. Does anyone know if another adaptor is available for what I want. The headphones that come with the 8525 work but are not good.
