Good phone but has some annoying quirks

Just got my 6133 two days ago. I like the loud ringers, strong vibrate, overall 'feel' of holding the phone, push-to-open and of course the high-res screen. Few things I find very disappointing though.

While you can change the color of the text on the main display, there is no way to change the text color of the time and date on the mini-display. If you have a dark background on the mini-display, there is no way to see the time.

Voice dialing. Practically worthless. First of all, there is no way to use it with out a headset, Bluetooth or otherwise. When you do use it with a headset, it can't recognize anything. Voice dialing on the Samsung t619 recognized my voice almost everytime and I could use it without a headset. Considering takin...

Ok I found out you can hold the volume up button to light up the external display and the volume down button to activate voice dialing. Still it won't recognize 'Nate.' It thinks it's pronounced Nat. Pretty annoying.

I just got the Nokia 6133 from T-Mobile and to my suprise, they have disabled the IrDa port. So I had to buy a bluetooth adapter. To make matters worst, The Nokia PC Suite software application is not supported on this phone. Big disappointment... Other than no way to sync the phone with my calander and contact list I like the phone. Sync'ing is very important so I'll probably be returning the phone.

Did you get it to synch at all with the Suite? It took a while, but my phone is synched right now with it. I transfer files and music all the time with it.

Okay, Maybe I'm a bit impatient. After fiddling with with ALL day (and I do mean all day)... It is now working okay. Part of my problem is that this is my first bluetooth device so I had to learn all those quirks. The phone's a keeper.

hold down the right soft key to get the voice dial without a headset.

the t619 was an advanced voice dial feature it isnt supposed to be the same

hold down ANY side button for the mini display light, if you lock the keys tapping the power button works easiest

i didnt read any replies before postin this so you may already know all this, as far as the mini display text color i dont know of a single tmobile phone or otherwise with MAYBE a few exceptions that can do that includin the t619

ALL: Now that this phone has been out there for awhile and you've had a chance to truly break it in, would you say it is still a great phone?

Bumping this thread to the top as I can't seem to get a decent deal on the 6126 via e-bay and can't wait on Cingular to decide again if they are going to carry this phone. Plus, it appears TMobile's service is better for where I'm moving in NY.

I'm not interested in anything other than a good phone with clear reception. I'm not into ringtones (part of the reason I've never owned a cell phone) and have no use to use the phone as a calendar/scheduler or to sync with any type of program.

My 6126 has behaved very well and I like it a lot. I would call it a "very good" phone, but not excellent because I think it could do better on battery life. Sony Ericsson seems to be ahead of Nokia here.

No dropped calls. I do have that occasional annoying clicking noise in the sound that some have complained about. It's not a stopper and it goes away when I use my bluetooth headset which is the majority of the time anyways.

It rings. It doesn't drop calls. The sound is fine. It's easy to use. Great as a phone.

It's used on Cingular, though I have tested it on T-Mobile briefly since I have accounts with both carriers.

jstickman: Thank you for your thoughts on the 6126. I was actually inquiring about the 6133 since I'm going to go ahead and get it through TMobile due to no success acquiring the 6126 via eBay.

Anyone care to give feedback on their experiences with the 6133? Will only use phone as a phone so not concerned about the MP3 issue, text messaging, etc.,

I've had the phone since yesterday but have been playing with it all evening/morning.

Reception: So far, crystal clear (T-Mobile in Pittsburgh, PA). Everyone I've talked to can hear me very well and vice versa.

Battery life: Could stand some improvement, however I was busy downloading MP3s, listening to the radio, making calls, using t-zones, and taking pictures. The phone does a lot, therefore a drain on battery life is to be expected.

Outer Display: Hit one of the volume keys on the left-hand side. The outer display w...
