I'm trying to decide to stay with Sprint or migrate to Cingular. I like both the Sony Ericcson W810 offered by Cingular and the Sanyo SCP-8400 offered by Sprint for different reasons. One of the things I like about the Sanyo is the PictBridge feature. According to Phone Scoop the W810i doesn't feature PictBridge. Does any knows if the SE W810 have something within the accompanying software that allows you to move pictures back & forth from phone to computer?

According to Phone Scoop PictBridge is a technology that allows direct connection from a digital camera or camera phone (camera device) to a printer for printing photos, without the need for a PC.

The connection generally requires a USB cable between the camera device and the printer.

Both the camera device and the printer must specifically support PictBridge. No other software or hardware is required aside from the USB cable. In this case a camera phone like the Sanyo SCP-8400 does have that support, the Sony Ericcson W810 does not.

Unlike Sony Products Sony Ericsson is a joint venture so there had been some sacrifices in certain areas, having been with sprint for 8 years until recently I found that the W810 is far better then any of the picture phones offered by Sprint, Sony has been making Digital cameras since they have been introduced and Sanyo makes far better Microwaves then phones...

As far as pictbridge, newer printers come with a card reader ergo saving battery life off the phone and well some printers allow you to edit/crop/reduce red eye. Don't get me wrong, its a nice feature, but there are corners cut, Let a Digital camera be a digital camera and a phone a phone. But otherwise the SE is 2 MP whereas the Sanyo is 1MP, 4 hr battery, slower shutter speed, m...

I currently have the W810i and i work for sprint(i have cingular service). They are not even comparable if you ask me. The 810i totally outweights the 8400 on everything. Including picture quality since the 810i is a 2+ megapix and i must say most of the time is definitly on the plus side of that. If you go to the sonyericsson.com site you can get a printer doc and all you need to go from phone to computer is a usb that is included in the box when you buy it. Not to mention that you also have the memory stick that(if your computer is capable of accepting it) can go directly into your computer for easy uploading and downloading.

Hope this helps.....

I am a religious sony ericsson buyer so if you have any questions feel free to ask!!...

Since you invited questions, here they come...How does the internet look on this phone with the provided web browser? Would you know how the Opera mini web browser looks like on it? Another question: Phone Scoop says it has a full-duplex speaker phone. Is that true and what do you think of it? Also, the battery life almost seems too good to be true. Would you describe how you use the phone and how often you have to re-charge? Also, do you have a recommendation for a good Bluetooth headset that pairs well with this phone? There...that ought to keep you busy. 🙂

Definition of Full Duplex can be found here:

So yes it is. As far as battery life, well in lab settings 8 hours of talk time, I found mine at 6 hours and several minutes, I was also messing around with Opera Mini so it wasn't a true gauge of my fielding.
Otherweise I've only had to charge every 3~5 days depending on the amount of calls, but I charge my phone at work (great having my company pay for my power :p). As far a Bluetooth headset, I love my Oakley Razrwire and Pioneer Avic-Z1. TomTom's BT is not as great since you would need to use the mike thats included. My sister's Lexus has a good connection too. For headets I'd recommend a Motorola.
