Holster for W810i

I prefer to carry my phone in a plastic holster on by belt. It's just much easier for me to get to while seated at my desk or while driving. I don't think Sony Ericsson actually makes one for this phone, but there are hundreds available on ebay (obviously cheap third-party). Has anyone tried one?

I asked this question over a month ago and got no replies. I still don't have a holster for my 810. I want one that swivels and has a quick disconect for when I get in and out of the car and the base always stays on my belt. It should also have an opening in the bottom to connect the headset.
IMHO SE screwed up by not putting a 2.5 mm headset jack on the top of the phone.

I think before I get the phone next month, I'm going to order one of the cheap ones from ebay. If it doesn't work I will have only lost about $5. It seems like it should work though.

I bought the Sony Ericsson Mobile Active Case IAC-25 for 19.95 from SE but returned it. It had four snaps on the back that came apart too easily and were very hard to resnap.
I can't believe they haven't come out with a holster specific to the 810. I wonder what others are doing.

I think a lot of people like to carry their phones in their pants pocket. I don't like to because I work a desk job. If it's in my pocket, I have to stand up to get it out. Holsters are just so much easier...even while driving. My current phone (a Samsung from Verizon) actually came with the holster! I think those days are gone.

I'm considering the w810i, and I'm concerned about the holster as well.

Amazon carries the Krusell holster for the w810i - see link below:

I've used the Krusell cases for other phones before, including an unusual open-to-keyboard model for which I couldn't find any other good holster. I've been happy so far.

The Krusell case Amazon offers currently shows two reviews, one detailed and very positive and the other short and extremely negative - apparently the case split open immediately.
I'm inclined to believe the latter, but YMMV.

Do post when you find a good holster! Good luck...

I use a Krusell case, not that one, but a different one. I've had mine 5 months now, no problems. I live in die by Krusell.

it's so small that i carry it in my pocket. when i'm at work (a desk job) i usually just set it on my desk since i often plug my computer speakers in to it.

i have one of those vent holders for use in my car ($7 at target). it's nice for not only seeing who is calling but also for ease access when connecting it to my car stereo.

i got one of those clear protective plastic cases that it snaps in to but it soon developed stress fractures at the corner and then cracked. i decided instead on simple peel and stick screen covers. works like a charm and doesn't have the added bulk the crystal case gave me.

i've been thinking about one of those arm band holders that ipods use for when i'm biking and working out.

(as you can tell, this...

Yeah, I saw that case. It's not bad looking, but I really don't care for cases in general. I mean, why go and pick out a nice, small, cool-looking phone...and then cover it up with a case? I realize the case protects it (which is good) but I prefer the appearance of the phone without it. That's another reason why I like the plastic "snap in" holsters. They offer quick, easy access to your phone, but they don't cover up it's good looks. Just a personal preference on my part.

Today I found a holster made for the 810. The brand name is "Skins" and I got it at the mall at a kiosk. It's just what I was looking for. It swivels and has the quick disconnect and all the right holes for the camera and charger/headset and buttons.
The vendor wanted to keep the packaging because he said they used them for reordering and I haven't been able to find a web site for Skins.
The beast does exist though. $24.00

That's good to know! If for some reason the $5 holster on ebay doesn't suit me, I'll look around the malls for the one you got. Thanks.

I have the Skins one as well. I love it. I bought it at an American Cellular store along with a car charger for my phone and they only charged me $20 for both.
