mine is the size of a small flash drive. it just plugs into usb, i pair it with the phone, and then just right-click on files, and choose send thru BT. i had never even used BT and i got it working in a few minutes. not sure what you mean about the cable being different tho. different on what, and from what? if its file transfers you want to do, the BT adapter is the way to go.
