Bitpim being finicky

I downloaded the Bitpim program in order to put music and ringtones onto my SCH-a930 from my iBook G4. In order to connect my phone to my computer and this program, I've been using the USB cord that comes with the VCast Music Essentials Kit (CSAMF 19-4.5 -- though I don't know if these numbers mean anything.)

The first few times I used the program and USB cord, there were no problems. But when I attempted to use the program today, it would find my phone and give me the option to retrieve or transfer information, but I was unable to transfer data (ringtones, specifically) to the phone giving me a "phone is not responding while manipulating the file system message."

When I pressed the "detect phone" button again, it gives me a "Found ...

Same problem exactly with my G5. I'm also using the VCast Music Essentials USB cord. BitPim worked for about one hour, and then... well, read the first post.
