text ringtones
can you send ringtones through messaging like on the razr or are you going to hve to do the whole bitpim thing to get free ringtones, anyone try yet?

i use the email method and they sound great. as long as you save the song clip as a .mid file

cool, so i can email them and save them as ringtones, that is what i needed to know, i can do that on my razr but the 8100 blocks it by putting them in you my sounds folder, which you can't set as ringtones 🙄 so you have to do the whole bitpim thing. Well this phone just jumped up a peg in my book.

I have tried the email method, however when ever I send it it says that the file is too large. I have dropped it to just over 300kb.

Yes, this works. The file must be saved or renamed as .mid and cannot exceed 300kb in size. When saving the file to the phone from the message make sure you have the default memory for saving set to phone. If it saves the sound to the card it won't show up in your My Sounds area on the phone.
