charging with a cradle?

per user guide it says that you can charge the phone using a sync cradle if you plug it inyo usb port. I don't have sync software installed on my computer and when I plug in the cradle into the usb and change little plug from sync to charge port nothing happens and phone is not charging. what am I doing wrong?

any info is appreciated

You have to leave the mini end in the USB side of the cradle. The other port is only for the AC charger. This is because of the output from you usb (computer) vs a wall outlet. I charge all the time from my computer. Hope this helps.

You don't have the AC charger plugged into the cradle? I plugged in the USB into the USB side and the AC charger into the AC side. Both at the same time...Didn't know you can do it with just the USB cable.
