Power button problem anyone?

Bristol

Dec 16, 2005, 8:10 PM
I got the 2125 from Cingular online, but the power button was so difficult to actuate that I returned the phone. I suspect it was a manufacturing defect. Has anybody else had this problem? When you press the button does it respond like any other button or do you have to fiddle with it or press extra hard?

Also, anybody get this at the store or is it only online? Dealing with the online store when you have a problem is voice response hell. I am getting my replacement at retail.

I had trouble with it at first until I read about the solution from someone else. You press the button, you kind of move it toward the screen. One I read that it works pretty easy. It's just not very intuitive.

Thanks. I thought I had the trick (and pushing down toward the screen was it), but I just couldn't get it to work consistently on the phone I had. The button did not have a clean "click", just a sort of a "squeak". Now I know what to try when I go to a store and look to get a replacement.

I was wondering @ first about the power button. Until I noticed little horizontal grooved lines (with phone in upright position), which is where the button is located. One time it seemed I would have to push xhard & next time normal. Figured out if I watched carefully & made sure my thumb nail was between & parallel with groves, it worked fine. 🙂
