Sony Ericsson W600i / W550i

i just have a quick question. i used to have the t637, for the t637 there was this little adapter that you could hook on the phone, and then use my own ear bud. i have the w600i. i just want to know if anybody knew if there is one of these adapters for the w600i? i know that it comes with a cord that has it on the end, but it also has a mic on it, and the cord is too long. so it doesn't work for me, since the sound gets muffled from the mic, and the cord then becomes 6 feet long. many thanks for any help you can lend.
