I have not a clue if this is true but just re-posting something that I read, for all I know is that Verizon may allow you to do so.

And if they they tell you that you have to pay full price for a phone, let them know it's cheaper to pay the $175 cancellation fee and sign up with another company that will accommodate you when you have a problem. We are all human and make mistakes. You just made a mistake and didn't add the insurance. So demand that you either let them give you the insurance and make good on it or otherwise you will leave. I didnt get the insurance at first, cuz i didnt realize i would need it. Now that i need it cuz of what happened i think i should be able to get it... idc. I only had this phone for about a month and a half. If verizon was a good company they would just give me a new phone. Idc what happened. I made a mistake, so they should be able to assist me in my mistake or something... đ

Water damage is covered under insurance just to let u know and the key word I read above was You didnt think you would need it. Well whose fault is it you didnt think? It sure isn't Verizons now is it, its yours. Now there is a simple answer to this verizon offers refurbished phones for $90.00, yes its not as cheap as the $50.00 deductable to the insurance company, and yes you wount get the E815 you'll get some lower end phone but its your fault for not thinking. I hate it when people come in to my store and think that we should give them the moon cause they signed a damn contract we offer you the insurance for the incase ofs, not because you know it will happen.

Verizon didn't drop your phone in water, YOU dropped your phone in water. Why should THEY pay for your mistake? Will you be the first to complain w...

This may come as a shock, but Verizon Wireless like all other carriers, is in business to make money. A part of this is delivering good customer service, but this does not include having to listen to someone ranting like a spoiled child. Assuming you took time to read the contract, you had a choice of accepting or rejecting the terms and conditions, including what features were avaiable and which were...

Hey Mr.Soapbox. Stop teaching kids how to cheat their way in life. To many kids are growing up thinking they can cheat their way out of everything or can "pull the wool" over the eyes of those they are trying to rip off by hacking.........
I think you should re-read my post on a Seem Edit. đ

Thank you, thank you and thank you. I am sick and tired of all these idiots playing the system instead of admitting it's their own damn fault and just dealing with it the right way - by just paying the retail price for a new phone like they should. To me, anybody that acts like that is just plain pathetic.
This is a good example of phone frustration LOL! I love it when idiots like that get so aggravated when they don't even know the whole story. I could sit here and say I just won a million dollars and you would believe that? LOL. If I knew you were that gullible, I would have sold you NYC! With Cingular you can add/minus insurance ANYTIME.
Like they say Cingular fits you best, none of this first 15 days of having a new phone crap.

I agree......as long as your phone is in proper working order and undamaged when you do it. đ
Should you also be able to put auto insurance on AFTER an accident and have it cover past accidents? đ
How about adding LIFE insurance after you die?

If something happens to my phone, and i need it fixed, how am i gonna get it fixed, if i didnt have insurance. I aint buying a whole new phone .

I think you miss-stated that.........It isn't IF something happens.....something ALREADY has happened to your phone!
đ You dropped it in the water, right? đ
I know that sucks and I feel bad for you damaging your new phone, BUT, Verizon offered you insurance in the beginning to cover the unexpected accidents and you choose NOT to take it. I'm sure that $4.99/mo. for insurance seems cheap now against spending a LOT of money for a new phone. âšī¸

Yes I have a problem with people like you always getting your way. People like you refuse to accept responsibility for your own decisions and actions and expect someone else to accept the blame. Because you lie and cheat to get an upgrade or a replacement when you do not need one you have now raised the price of the items across the board.
I apparently do apply much more thought before I speak than you yourself do. ...

Should have thought ahead like I did and bought the insurance when it was offered, within the time Verizon offers for insurance purchase.
