E815 blows more than a $3 hooker

OK. Now I have your attention. I posted this question twice before and no one answered, so I thought I would try a catchy title.
I love my E815, except for the echo problem.

My E815 causes an extreme echo to the person who calls me when I have it connected to my wife's truck using the Bluetooth portion of her Nokia CK-7W car kit (wired and Bluetooth kit). When she has her non-BT Nokia 3588i in the cradle, there is no echo on the caller's end or on our end. If we pop out her phone and hook up mine via BT, the caller gets a strong echo back of every word said. I hear a slight echo on my end of every few words, but not the whole conversation.

I went to a cellular repair shop and the tech told me that Bluetooth, when used with a CDMA syst...

You haven't gotten an answer because no one has any idea how to fix your problem.

Thank you for your response.

I was hoping to get an answer to the questions regarding the differences between BT on CDMA vs. GSM systems. Someone out there must be familiar enough with GSM/CDMA and BT to answer those questions.

I thought it was nuts to say that Bluetooth on a GSM system cannot transfer data, but he insisted that is true. He also insisted that BT over GSM does not have echo problems, whereas BT on CDMA will echo, due to using only half the BT bandwidth for voice and half for data.

As far as not having any idea how to fix the echo, several posters have stated that the EVRC change and opcode change WILL get rid of the echo. It did not work for me, though.

I made those changes based upon recommendations in these forums. One way to learn about something is to try it with someone else's guidance. That way, you do not remain ignorant. That is what learning is all about...trying new things about which you currently know nothing.

As far as swapping out the phone, this is my fourth one and they all had the problem.

In fact, this thing echoes back at me when using a CORDED headset, if hte volume is turned up past 4 on the phone. It CANNOT be a feedback problem, since the earpiece and mic are completely isolated from each other (big foam earpiece insulator pressed tightly against my head).

okay, I will offer you this suggestion; do not use the e815 with her wired bluetooth setup. Sometimes there is a conflict and you are experiencing this for yourself. If you really like the 815 other than this one problem, and you have exhausted verizon, moto, etc. technical support, and the folks on this forum have no answers, well then, try howardforums. There are tons of technical information and people willing to help. Jack

Thanks. I'll cruise over there.

This phone even echoes with a wired headset, so it is not feedback between mic and speaker. It only does it when the volume is turned up past four.

but possibly some other aspectof your setup. i can say this: in san francisco, the e815 gets full digital coverage. i have paired one with a sony ericsson 660 bluetooth headset and used it with no echo problems whatsoever. it sounds to me like there's something about the setup in your truck. unless you have this echo problem everywhere you go. in which case i don't know what to tell you because i can't imagine you've had 4 equally defective phones.

All four phones had an echo, but the first three were returned for other defects.

As I said, this phone echoes even with a wired headset when the volume is up past four.

Any truth to the "...Bluetooth, when used with a CDMA system, allocates half the BT bandwidth to data and half to voice. He claims that is what makes the BT echo on CDMA systems. He said that BT and GSM together do not echo..." claim by the tech I mentioned?
