My E815 battery meter doesn't work

My wife and I got e815s a week ago. The battery meters on both phones stay at 6 pretty much no matter what we do with them. Then when we plug the phone in, presto, the meter says 2 or 4 or whatever, and it charges for a long time. So it looks like the battery meter program isn't correctly reading the charge level in the actual battery. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix?

Great phones, by the way. We had quite a struggle getting phone numbers onto them from our Palms, but the reception, sound quality, and voice recognition make up for it.

My 815 battery meter stays on full for quite a while. Once it drops below 6 bars, it seems to drop pretty fast. My phone, with my amount of usage will last about 3 days. I usually recharge mine every evening so I never have a problem. My battery actually lasts longer than I expected it to, so I am happy.

Not sure where you guys are getting 6 bars for battery meter?? I have and always did have only 4 bars. I get about 3 days out of it with normal usage and some bt usage. If I use the bt too much, then it drains a little faster, but I only have 4 bars for battery.

If you go into the menu. then go to phone info (number 9). Then you'll see the third one down is battery meter. Select that one. It shows 6 dots, colored if full. My meter seems to be fine, but it does die a little faster once it goes to 4 dots.

Yes, that's the meter I was talking about. Interestingly, I never see 5 dots or 3 or anything, so I think the phone only detects four levels: full, 2/3, 1/3, and empty.

Has anybody else had the experience where it looks fully charged, but when you plug it in it immediately looks 2/3 or 1/3 charged?

Yes, I was wondering about this myself. It must be normal.

Mine will stay on 6 forever, then drop to in almost no time. Makes it hard to anticipate when I need to charge it. I did get an extended battery and it is more of the same.

i wish the battery meter on the insdie display was easier to read. It is dark green when full (three bars) and light green as the life depletes. I suggest providing more contrast for easier viewing especially since the icon is so small.

i have the same battery meter thing happen to me. once it drops from 6, it drops fast by twos. goes from 6 to 4 to 2 to 0 and beeping to recharge. but atht all happens for me in about 1 day. do any of you guys have problems with your battery life? mine only lasts about 1 day, and then i have to recharge it. and that's just it being on standby with no calls made or received and no playing around with the features or anyhting. i read here that it's the flashing 1x to EV and back that's causing the battery to die in 1 day, and i have the flashing.
