Ringer Volume Issues...

Is there a reason why the ringers that you put on the phone (whether it's midi or mp3) are so much softer than the default midi ringers? This is driving me nuts, because the phone will be right at my side and I can't hear it ring in a busy place when the volume is at MAX (7). I've tried volume maximizing software (like mp3gain) but that is of limited use. What do the default ringers have that the ones I put on my phone don't? Does this bother anyone else? Thanks.

I put MP3 ringers on and they crank. In fact at the lowest level they still sound kinda loud. I used the tansflash card, did not change any default settings.

What's the bit rate of your mp3's, and how big are the files? I've been sending the songs through e-mail, but can the transflash transfer trick send bigger files (with greater kpbs)? Thanks.

I loaded several tunes to the card. Not sure how big you can make ringtones but I used the 30 sec clips that are available.
Details on the tunes (MP3 Format) display bit rate of 128 kbps.

mine are really low too. i sent them via pix message. they play loud the very first second, but then the volume changes and they get soft. this is at max volume 7 too. i could hear the default ringers ring inside a busy diner at dinner time, but sometimes i can't even hear these when i'm driving. it's really the phone's only downside. it has the potential to be loud obviously because the defaults are so loud so why won't they stay like that?

I sent a file via pix messaging and the ringtone sounded terrible I sent the same file via funformobile.com and the sound quality and volume is great. Try it that way.

that is the way i did it. funformobile.com sends it as a pix message. while the file is nice and clear, the volume is too low. i want it to hurt my ears when it goes off in my room. any suggestions to make them louder?

Well the mp3's at the lowest volume are actually much lower than the default ringers, but they are softer at the higher volumes. I wish someone had a fix for this, because as of now the mp3 ringers, and even custom midi ringers, are useless to me.
