Does your E815 take blurry pictures?

I got my E815 on July 5th and I love the phone but some people post their pics on HOFO with excellent quality. I look at the pics I have and they are all blurry. I have it set on auto and at the highest resolution. Anybody have similar issues? I have seemed edited the phone but I doubt that is the issue.

Keep this in mind when taking your pics...
Make sure the light/sun is not behind the person/object you're trying to shoot.
Make sure you're not getting too close to person/object.
These are the two most common mistakes people make that cause those ugly blurry pics...

I get alot better pics outside but still blurry. I am just taking pics of scenery. I lowered the brightness and got a little better pic outside. Inside no matter what I take a picture of a room or just my desk its blurry everywhere. I wish I can send a pic so you can see.

The images on the screen "viewfinder" look great...then you capture the image and the result is a seemingly blurred picture. I believe the problem is with the ccd and its quality and ability to capture the digital info. Take pics in plenty of light and it isn't as noticable...

I was thinking of going to the verizon store and exchanging it and hopefully they will give me a new unit instead of a refurb since the phone is only 2 weeks old. As a poll if you have blurry pictures did you notice any dead pixels when it camera mode and looking at a dark background? I just want to see if there is any corolation.

I thought I had a defective e815 when I received my first. The earpiece speaker gets tinny, and distorted at higher volumes, the camera wasn't taking good pics etc. I called for a new unit because I was within my 15 day satistaction period. I received my second unit a few days ago and it has the exact same problems!! I guess it is something we have to deal with.

I noticed that the more light, the better the pic...

I had the same problem with the earpiece. I started a thread with a possible fix. Maybe this will work for you. It improves the loudness of volumes 1-4. As a result, it makes volume 4 adequate for listening. I even turn mine down to 3 at times. But, yeah volumes above 4 sound buzzy with higher pitches. I wa told that volumes above 4 were designed for the speakerphone, and it appears true. I went to Verizon(actually CC)a few days ago to see if maybe the new batch sounded different. No, I tried several of them, at a few different stores. All the same. Try the fix.

As far as the camera, my pictures look good. I mean for a camera phone they are surprisingly good. I have my res set at high. You have to be very still when taking pix. I have ...

It seems like everyone is having the same problem. I have experimented on every camera setting and every light, from indoors to out, and get basically the same outcome, blurry pictures! Don't even try the 4X zoom, very blurry! It seems the more you zoom the worse the picture gets. I have also sent all the pics to my email address and they get worse in the larger format.

I exchanged it today and its alot better. Definetly the camera was faulty. I got a new phone that had a date of 7-2-2005 on it. It had no vcast (needed to be flashed). Alot better phone to more sturdy and battery cover is flush. But nothing is 100% but I am happy.

Does the camera work in all modes, such as 2x & 4x zoom without blur? I am wondering if waiting for a second or third round of e815 phones will be better than what we have?? Maybe I'll go to Verizon and see what a few different new one's work like. Thanks for the update.

Admittedly, the pictures taken by the e815 aren't exactly spectacular.. But then I keep reminding myself: "It's a phone, It's a phone." Mine also were fairly blurry.. Frustrated tonight, I started adjusting the settings... By default, the camera doesn't take the greatest pictures.. Camera seems to perform quite well with ample light, however... Adjusted the camera for indoor light, and upped the Contrast as far as it would go.. Wow!! Huge difference... Changing the Contrast made a world of difference for me.

i'm confused so let me get this straight. after you take pictures, do the pictures look blurry when you view them on the phone, when you view them on your computer, or when you email them and then open them to view them?

Somewhat blurry on the phone, it depends if you zoom, or the lighting. The 4x zoom definitely blurry on the phone. When you send them to the computer, then you can see how bad they really are. It's tough to see how blurred they actually are on that small screen.
