The built in memory and expansion card option both seem to allow the same clip length. You can store more than an hour on the TF card, but you can't record that much at a time.

so are you saying that the E815 records 15 second clips and the phone can hold an hour of clips..or can the E815 record a 5 minute video?

the "E815 recording a 5 minute video" would be awesome...hopefully thats what it does!!! 😁 😁

Yes. I have about 25 clips maybe 2-3 minutes each on my 256k TF card and it is less than half full. Imagine a 512k card and do the math.

The Temporary Internet Files folder in Windows is a good source of video. View a scene you like and copy the file from there to the TF after you convert.

I'm not sure what you mean by memory because I don't know what goes into it, like RAM?

You need the expansion card to store a 5 minute clip.

The v710 only allowed clips of 15 secs while using internal memory. Its likely that the e815 will be the same with the final firmware, if it isn't already. Possibly longer because of the 40mb of internal memory versus the v710's 10mb.

You will probably be able to store much longer videos (limited to memory?) when using a memory card, as the e815 users are reporting now.

The 5 minute videos stored on the TF card do get sluggish.

Maybe the E815 will be better.

Some large movies get freeze-frames, most do not. I suspect that file size has something to do with it.

Sorry guys, I've been busy farting around with the DUN profile on my phone while trying to get 5 min video on the transflash card; somehow I f***ed up the card and it's unusable now. I'll try to get another card sometime this week and see if I can get the video on the card. Is there anyone out there can step up to the plate and help? It really pissed me off when I screwed up my card, I've already tried reformatting it, but the card just die 😈 . Any idea how to fix it if it's fixable, really hate to fork out more money for another card. Can anyone tell me if these cards are hot swappable? If not, then I'm really mad at myself. 😡

With the new flash for the 710 it should be. If you have the old flash the most it would do is freeze the phone.
Does the card work in your PC, if so remove all files and start with a fresh format from the phone. Don't know if it will work but it's worth a shot.
If not see if they will exchange it wherever you bought it.

I have the latest .OR flash on my 710 and the phone never freeze. I think there is something wrong with the card itself and I'll see if I can get it exchanged. I formatted the transflash with the E815 and it works great on both phone, I've been taking pictures with my E815 and copy it to the 710 since the picture quality is much better in the E815. As to whether or not the card work on my PC, no, not anymore, I can't get pix or video off my card anymore, it keep saying cannot read file or something like that. They only have one card left at the Circuit City store when I got it, and I really think the card is the problem since both phone never freezes, I just can't read the darn thing anymore. 😈

I thought the E815 was not out yet? But I see reviews on Phonescoop. Where are the phones available? I live in Connecticut and so far no luck finding one at either Radio Shack or Verizon stores.

Thanks for your help.
