I am thinking of gettin the 650 when my current contract is up next week. It would be my primary use phone but it would be nice to have another small phone for certain situations where i dont wanna carry the 650. Thinking about the Razr or something like that. Would i have to find a source for an unlocked Razr or can i buy one directly from cingular and just move my sim card from the treo to the Razr when i want to swap phones? Thanks

You never mentioned what provider you are with.

If you have multiple phones and they are all from Cingular, yes you simply swap the sims.

The former att wireless sims can only be used in former att wireless handsets, not current Cingular handsets.

Sorry I am with Cingular. Looks like im stuck waiting another week to get hte Treo now bc they sold out of them in the local store and I have to get it thru there bc it is on a company account. I will be keeping my current phone (SET637) tho and if it all works like u say swapin the sim card back to it on occasion. If i like doin this enought I may spend the money on a Razr on my own too.

Just read a reply over on the Razr board where the guy says that the Razr and treo use diff type sim cars so the sim out of the treo can not be moved over to the moto...anyone know anymore about this? Thanks

There are issues with the treo 650 when you use a "gemplus" 60k card. If you have the 32k gemplus or the other brand sim card (32k or 60k) you should be able to seamlessly switch back and forth like I do. For issues between motorola and treo, Make sure you have and use your primary contact and address on the phone's memory in stead of the card only or both phone and card for seamless switching.
