T-Mobile and Treo 650

Does anyone know if and/or when T-mobile is going to carry the Treo 650? From what I've read only Cingular currently carries it. If I purchase an "unlocked" version of this phone from an independent dealer would I be able to use it with a T-Mobile plan?
Thanks!

you could use it but would not beable to use the internet with t-mobile unless you knew the settings to change it. it set for cingular settings.

if you get the "unlocked" version of the phone you won't have to worry about cingular's settings and you WILL be able to use the internet. it works great on mine!

tmobile doesn't seem to know anything about getting the treo 650 any time soon. i was a bit hesitant to buy the device from an alternate source, but after speaking with tmobile, i was confident in making the purchase. you simply have to buy a fully unlocked GSM version of the phone. (i've seen them from online dealers for use with cingular and sprint and you'll want to steer clear of these) tmobile used to carry the treo 600 and fully supports all features. (they still do support it of course) since the 650 doesn't really have any more features than the 600 (upgrades made were basically a faster processor, bluetooth and a higher version of OS) you can rest assured that the features of your 650 will be supported as well.

One of the phone reps said that the Treos never really worked right and that tech support is too hard with Treos. This is the supposed reason that the Treo 600/650 is not carried by T-Mobile..

Who ever said that sure doesn't know what they're talking about. I have a treo 650 thru cingular and it's the best phone I've ever owned. It does everything it's suposed to do and no it doesn't lock up. I would not be without it.
