Don't expect VZW to get the 650

I really don't understand how everyone in here can be so sure as of to when and if vzw will get the 650. I'm a tech and talked to one of the lab testing guys today and he says that vzw will not be getting it. Why not you ask? .. #1 its not ev-do #2 only additions are a more colorful screen a expansion slot and bluetooth. Thats not enough for then to scrap the 600. Once palm rls's a treo thats ev-do id say it would be a safe bet that, that will be the next treo you see vzw carry.

But those are not the only changes- removable/changeable batteries & VOICE DIALING are key features for many of us who make soild use of our phones-

I for one await the 650 if only for its addition of voice dialing -

VZW customers... u r not getting it, just face it. im sorry, i hate to be the bearer of bad news. unless you want gsm, SprintPCS is going to be your option. (when u r ready to switch, let me know) 😉

Hmm, maybe it's just me but I think he was being sarcastic. Referring possibly to a conflict of interest decreasing the actual absolute credibility of your information.

Yup, sarcasm. I typically brush off comments from people like him. It's hard enough trying to get the straight scoop in this industry, let alone listening to a bigot for a particular company. In other words, he has zero credibility.

I got an email earlier today from my VZW Business rep. Launch is sometime in April. No date. No price until launch.

I'm just trolling the forum looking for comparos between the Treo and the BB. I used the 6600 for about a week before giving up on it...Too Nancy a device for me...

Does anyone know where I can go for a "head to head" matchup between the treo and BB?

You have made my year...if what you say is true. What is your source, other than you say that you are playing with it now? Are you a VZW employee or in a test group? I am dying to hear more...so that I can continue to hold on.

I am an employee. I wont say what dept, but it's as credible as it gets. Don't mean to be so shadowy, but I like having a job. They allow us to use many devices before the public even knows about them...I'll keep you posted on more of the Treos' functionality when I learn about it.

🙂 I was just in a local Circuit City and the guy working the Verizon Kiosk ACTUALLY HAD THE DISPLAY CARD! He showed it to me. No price insert yet, but the card was in my hands! WOOHOO! I was this close to hacking a sprint phone!
