Just called Sanyo...
Now it's just a matter of waiting for Sandisk to release the 1 GB card. Anyone hear of any release dates?

spoke to them too...They weren't as confident, but said most likely by the end of March. $99 retail.
They wouldn't comment on speeds to compare to competitors (mainly ATP). From what I've read ATP is a bit faster on both read and write, and more durable (waterproof, dustproof, extreme temps). Slightly more exppensive though. Also looks like 1gb will come out a bit later than Sandisk. I just bought a 512MB ATP, but haven't used it yet...will wait to upgrade to 1gb

ATP is like the same as 60x on other cards...for example, kingsmax. ATP is just for one brand.
