how long does the rebate check take to come back?

6-8 weeks, most customers that I have done rebates for got them in 6 weeks. 🙂

out of curiosity, since you have to pre-qualify for the rebate, why not just make it instant? Waiting 6-8 weeks isn't the end of the world, but it just seems like more headaches for the company (postage, missing checks, wrong addresses, etc).

They are testing instant rebates in select markets. The rebates however are lower than the 150 you get now.

If you are activating a new phone the rebate should be instant depending on where you live. If you are upgrading, it will definately be a mail in rebate.

they are mail-in because sprint invests that money. smart from a bussiness perspective, bad for consumers.

my last rebate only took 45 days. Companies do mail in rebates, because half the time, they are not submitted, or are even rejected by the rebate dept, and lazy people will not follow up and lose the rebate(although it may just take a simple 2 min phonecall) or have no idea who to call.
