I'm not exactly sure what phone your talking about that was released through Verizon, but there's a simple explanation. There are a couple major things that affect the reason it was so high, and one of them is the fact that it's Bluetooth. Being that it is such a newer in-demand technology, of course they're going to throw up the price. Not to mention the fact, if [Verizon] did not have a closely comparable phone of it's kinda (including the Bluetooth tech.), then what a excellent marketing decision to make the price high for those wanting the technology, with no other alternative.
