Yes. mp3s, mid files, etc. Just copy to Storage/Application Data/Sounds. Whatever audio files are in that folder will show up under the ringtone selection list.

As karhill pointed out you can copy the MP3 to the Storage/Application Data/Sounds folder. Since the ringer will only use about 20-30 secs of the song, you might want to trim off everything else beyond 30 secs to save memory.
