Phone will not take a charge

Happened twice now, the phone is really low on battery, I put it on to charge and it won't take it. It runs out of battery and never wakes up. I'm now on my third handset in just over a month.

Orange (gawd bless-em) replaced everything the last time; Battery, handset, charger, the lot and it happened again. I tried everything including changing charger (usb to mains) taking out the sim, taking out the sd card and it just wouldn't come back to life.

Any suggestions?

Did you make sure you discharged the battery at least 3 times when you first stateted using the phone? This ususally is the main issue -not breakin in the battery correctly.
