Unlock sites... Legit?

I keep seeing references to unlock sites (like http://www.c500-unlock.com/). I know that at least one person on this forum has supposedly done it... are they legit?

I'm thinking about signing up for ATT, unlocking, and flipping to Cingular (they have better family plans). No early termination fee for doing this BTW.

yeah but with cingular you will need to get the 64k sim.

Yes, that is the site we all used to unlock the 5600. It took 15 minutes from payment to receipt of the unlock code. As a bonus, I also received the firmware file. I think they threw this in because long before unlocking was available for this phone, the workaround was to update the firmware to the Euro version. They included the firmware file so that those people could revert back to the original firmware. I have not used the file myself.

After unlocking, the phone, to test it out I went to my local Cingular store and popped the rep's SIM in my phone. No problem at all. I made several calls with the Cingular SIM. The deal is this. Cingular will charge you $25 for a SIM and an $18 migration fee to move over to Orange. The voice...
