Audiovox SMT 5600 / SPV C500 (HTC Typhoon)
No Audiovox in-store
I returned my Audiovox yesterday and noticed that the former AT&T now Cingular stores didn't even have them on display anymore. As I was returning mine it caught a consumer's eye and he asked the salesman for it. The salesman said he didn't show him that one for a reason...I didn't overhear the rest of the convo.
I asked my salesman if the phone would be made available on Cingular and he said there aren't any plans for that at this time.
While I returned it in favor of the Motorola Razr V3, the Audiovox SMT is an awesome awesome phone! It's NEW, so I don't see how in the world they'll just DUMP it, esp. when there's no equivalent Cingular phone in terms of size & features.

when i asked for it they tried to jack up the price on me

Well, there IS a phone that Cingular has that is actually better in some ways, and not as good in others. It's the Motorola Mpx 220. In fact, the 220 is the only other major phone on the market with windows smartphone.
The catch is that you have to order the MPX 220 online or over the phone from Cingular.

um no, the MPX220 is in NO WAY superior to the SMT5600, to start the MPX220 is a motorola, thats a HUGE flaw right there
