Personally, I prefer phones with a chin. It's a natural place to rest my thumb when holding the phone while reading an article, etc. But when I'm interacting with the screen, I'll slide the phone down in my hand a bit, in which case the very bottom becomes a very difficult part of the phone to reach with my thumb.

The bezel wouldn’t be a selling point for me because I always put my phone in a case. Unless it’s a rugged model with gorilla glass, I can’t believe anyone would risk dropping a device for which they paid hundreds of dollars.

Too poor? It's still a $750 phone, if you need to drop a grand on a phone to feel more important, so be it. Most people don't need to compensate for anything!
