I also noticed it wasn't in the Verizon print ad this morning, and it had been earlier this week.

I also spent last weekend researching this phone and Verizon and decided it was the ultimate in service provider, clear calls - don't need the camera - and tri-mode phone to avoid dropped calls. I called Verizon on Thursday, March 31st, to sign up for service (3 family phones). After an hour waiting on the line, getting info, credit checks, etc., I was told this model wasn't available for a couple of weeks. I said I would wait for the V265 and check back. Do you think it's temporary, or is Motorola discontinuing the model for Verizon?

This forum hasn't endorsed Verizon's "digital only" call performance, and my impression of the other tri-mode phones on Verizon is just so-so for quality. It seems the fancier the phone, the more problems (e...

There's no way to know for sure, but researching it a little, there doesn't appear to be any mid- or entry-level replacement coming for it soon... so it'd seem that either the V265 will come back, or perhaps the Moto V260 (essentially the V265 without the camera, and currently available only at Radio Shack) will become more widely available and will be its temporary replacement.

Again, the Motorola phones that I'm aware of that are coming for Verizon- the E815, the RAZR V3- are high-end phones....

I'm happy to report that on the evening of 04/26/05, I called Verizon and the Motorola V265 was finally available (I started my order on 3/31/05)! I successfully completed my order for a Family Share plan (3 lines/1000 minutes) with V265 phones that arrived on Friday.

The following is not so much an endorsement of the phone (yet) as much as the experience I've had so far with Verizon Customer Service!

Three boxes arrived FedEx late Friday afternoon! Asked me to read much fine print. Read some but not all. Came to realize the $5/month txt "unlimited IN" plan is not nearly as useful as 500 txt/mth plan at $8, so I ask for a switch. Meanwhile, my husband and teen daughter are VERY anxious to get their phones going. I make sure all ph...

They were probably out of stock, as of
5/12/05 it was back on there. I was looking
at this model also but opted for the v710 when the 265 wasn't available. Think I made a good
decision an extra 60 dollars
