I had the LG VX6100 for about 15 days, and decided to trade it in for the Moto V265. Luckily Verizon let me extend my trial period since I was having issues with the VX6100. After using my V265 for about 10 days or so I think I will be staying with it. Below is what I found good and bad about both of them:

LG VX 6100
----------
Good:

- Great screen, color and clarity
- Very easy to use - barely cracked the manual
- Driving mode very useful for hands free calling and answering
- Speaker phone pretty good
- Calendar very easy to use
- Pretty nice camera for a phone
- Seemed to be pretty solid
- I believe when using a headset and you close the cover, call hangs up - not so on 265
- Very quick to charge

Bad:

- Bug: If lo...

Just thought of another advantage to the V265 - It has a vibrate ring combination which the LG doesn't have. The phone will vibrate for son long then ring for an incoming call. I like this setting so when I am in meetings if a call comes in I can silence the phone, but the phone will still ring when I forget to turn off the vibrate mode.

bergim, you wrote: When using headset, call does NOT hang up when using headset. At night this is a pain since you can't see End key . I guess this would be good if you wanted to holster the phone to walk while you talk.

I assume that your complaint is that you can't hang up a call with the headset in and flip closed? You actually can, press and hold the side key that's normally for speakerphone...it will end the call. With a headset in, you shouldn't have to open the flip at all unless you want to mute 😕

Oops, I meant the call will not hang up when you close the flip. This makes it difficult to hag up at night since you can't see the end key. I didn't realize you could make calls with the flip closed with the headset closed. Never thought to try the voice commands with the flip closed.

Thanks for the info.

Just got back from the VZW store. I tested the v265 and 6100 back-to-back - they let you make free calls on each model. This is as good a test as I can think of as the reception at the stores is typically excellent.

The 6100 had much better sound quality and earpiece volume. When I listened to people on the v265 they sounded like they were underwater. On the 6100 they sounded much more clear and natural. Same results on their end when they were listening to me.

The build quality of the v265 is a joke. Felt like a cheap kid's toy.

Anyway my $.02 FWIW.

Always remember...There is no perfect cellphone!! 😉

If you were able to test where the reception is not excellent you would see why the v265 is so popular. Much better than the vx6100.

Agreed, and its a cruel joke that they're essentially discontinued at this point 😢

the v265 is absolutely garbage. i was a v60 user for 2 years and finally needed to upgrade my phone. i bought the v265 and after 1 week of hardcore use, testing all of its capabilites, i realized it was a piece of junk.

way too plastic of a feel, horrible screens both inside and out, why so small on the inside for such a huge phone? the camera was worthless. the buttons were so flimsy and typing a test message would make the whole phone squeak. the battery cover on the outside would slide back and forth, so annoying.

i exchanged it for an LG6100 and although i have the volume bug problem on that phone, it absolutely blows away the moto. remember this is coming from a loyal moto user. this was obviously just a phone moto came out with f...

Interesting. I've had my v265 for a few days and think it is decent. Not sure if it's decent enough to keep though. It is flimsy - feels cheap. The LCD is crap. The cam is crap. The only thing decent is the speakerphone.

Is the v710 a better option than this phone? I know it has its probs but it seems like a better made phone.
