RF and battery compared to LG VX6100

tried the LG VX6100 for about a week. i'm pretty dissapointed with both battery life and the reception. In areas with great signal, it performed ok but in my house where i get 3bars as opposed to 4-5bars, it constantly switch between 1x to analog to no signal even if the phone is just on my desk. i returned it and now i'm planning to get the V265. i had much success with my Moto v60i. it had excellent RF. wondering if the V265 is comparable or even better. also battery of the LG lasted 2days only w/ moderate use. any idea how this one is in real world use?

I have had teh LG VX6100 for about 3 weeks and can say the battery life is the worst. I could not even get 24 continuous hours from the battery that came with the phone. I got the extended battery and they best I got with that was less than 32hrs. Reception is not all that great either (in comparison with the V60i I was using before I got the 6100).

I can't seem to talk Verizon into giving me a different phone so I will have to buy one retail somewhere else. I'm considering the V265 and would like to hear more comments regarding battery life and reception in marginal areas.

let me tell you, 2 reasons i returned the LG VX6100 i bought was reception and battery life. In both areas, it sucked. battery life lasted 1.5 days only for me. i kept getting dropped calls in my house. i just got the v265 and i can say, battery life is pretty good compared to the LG. reception is awesome. haven't had dropped calls yet in my house. sure it doesn't have the best camera and screen and it's all plastic-y compared to my old v60i but heck as a phone, it rocks!

My problem with the 6100 is that I have great signal strength...but it just sounds choppy and distorted.

Bought my wife the 9900...she loves that, and it really does sound nice. I will be trading my 6100 today probably...probably for the v265---supposed to have great reception, and you can use the speakerphone with the phone closed i hear.

i don't know about the speakerphone working when it's closed. i have one and i couldn't get it to work when closed. it hangs up your connection once you close it.

Most phones do that when closed. Everyone that I have used do that except for Sanyo phones for Sprint. Their phones have the Ready Link option that allows you to "2-way" with the speaker pointed at you rather than away.

But most people purchase phones for the service in areas that they want it to work. I still have customers upgrading their kid's phones but not their own StarTac for that reason alone.
